Cannot create Groups after activating this plugin

    I received an error message after I activated this plugin and tried to create new group. It says “There was an error saving group details. Please try again.” However, when I deactivate the plugin, I can create and save the group no problem. Any idea what may have caused this error and how to fix it?
    Currently I also have below plugins installed for the site.
    bbPress version 2.5.8
    BuddyPress version 2.4.3

    This plugin is currently saved in the same folder as the other plugins under the wp-content/plugins directory. I saw on the plugin install page it was specified to do below but I am not sure how relevant that is to the version of WP, BP I have so have not done that. Are these steps still required?

    *If you already have/had BP active on your sub networks:

    1) deactivate BuddyPress on your sub network(s).
    2)Edit your database and remove the bp- settings for the subnetwork from wp_sitemeta and wp_X_options where X is the blog ID of the main site in your sub network.

    This plugin is currently saved in the same folder as the other plugins under the wp-content/plugins directory.

    The installation instructions say to install the plugin in the wp-content/mu-plugins folder. It does not work when installed in the plugins folder.

    Are these steps still required?

    Yes. Other than bug fixes there have been no changes made to this plugin since it was written.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick response. I followed the direction to save this plugin under mu-plugins folder that I made under wp-content.
    Now, I am not very clear about what I should be removing from the wp_sitemeta & wp_X_options. I browsed these two tables but did not see entries that has bp- leading; can you give me more specific examples of what I should be looking for to remove from the database? Really appreciate your help as I am new to wordpress!

    Search your database for ‘bp-‘.
