hey folks, just wanted to report a strange bug i encountered when naming Modules using numbers. apparently if the number you enter matches the ID number of a user it then inserts that user’s name as the author of the Module showing it in parentheses. it also appears in the title of the Module post/item itself in WordPress under the Modules section. however when editing the Module’s properties the author’s name doesn’t appear. i only managed to check this because i was looking at the user’s profile and the URL showed the ID number matched the prefix i was giving to the course (it was all for Course 101 so my Modules were labeled 101.1,101.2, etc). interestingly it ignored any characters after this.

i’ve gotten around the problem by typing an underscore in front and that seems to work. but just thought you should know. to reproduce the bug just type the number of any user ID in the user list as the title of the Module (like ‘101 – Introduction’)and you’ll see that user’s name in parentheses as the supposed author, as long as there is a user with that ID number. this is using the latest version of WordPress and the latest Sensei version.

    Hi there, @metaphysician,

Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the trouble!

I wasn’t quite able to reproduce the exact issue on my end, so I am probably missing some steps on the bug reproduction you described.

Could you contact us via this contact form and mention this thread? If possible, can you also how to reproduce the bug with images? This helps us if we cannot again replicate your specific issue on our end. Feel free to attach a screenshot in your next reply if you think it can be useful to me. If you don’t know how to make a screenshot, here’s a quick explanation:

Thanks a lot for working this out with us!

okay left a message on the contact form. to reproduce exactly you have to have 100+ users on the test site. maybe it only occurs with 3 digit numbers with periods. i’m not sure but i changed the 101.0 Module to not be listed with an underscore and the user’s name is now clearly visible. here’s the screenshots:
