We appear to be getting a series of automatic redirects and aren’t sure how. I don’t see anything in the settings that would cause this as most are unwanted and were unauthorized to the point that some of the actual pages don’t work anymore.

For example, a blog post has /robots.txt redirected to the actual blog post. We also have .png images that aren’t hosted on the server, being redirected to the homepage. I checked with the hosting company and we are free of malware.

We don’t want to deactivate the plugin completely at this point because we have important redirects needed, but are struggling to troubleshoot.

The URL monitoring settings on the options page control any automatic redirects the plugin creates. Outside of that, the plugin does not create anything automatically and it will be created by another person or entity.

I don’t know how that would be possible?

thanks! I unselected URL monitoring, so I presume we will not see this issue any further?

the odd thing is that it was creating redirects for things we didn’t even change. That includes any fake file additions.

Without knowing if this setting was responsible then I cannot say.

The plugin cannot do this, and I don’t understand what you mean about fake files – you would need to provide specific details.
