Automatic Image Format

I left in the plugin settings the options of format and automatic quality, but it is being delivered in the original format and I would like browsers to receive it in webp format when they can support it, it was also noticed in the pagespeed that is not being delivered

I also saw that on the cloudinary platform the images are not with the quality settings and automatic format

My question is, if it’s in the settings in the automatic plugin, it wouldn’t be to be delivering the best option like webp when possible, or I have to change one by one manually on the platform

Hi @diogocardoso2010,

Upon taking a look at your site and picking up some random product images, I do see they are delivered with the f_auto and q_auto transformation parameters, along with some others and the image format I get back on a Chrome browser is WebP.

Can you please share with me some image URLs where you see this isn’t happening? Or at least direct me in the right place of how to reproduce this issue on your site? Any specific page I should navigate to?

thanks for answering, so i saw that it is showing up with the correct parameter, but google’s pagespeed keeps asking for latest generation images, it seems that he is not receiving the images in webp

the hummingbird plugin also shows that it could speed up the site by making it available with cutting edge images

Hi @diogocardoso2010,

I’m not familiar nor an expert with pagespeed or hummingbird.
However, looking at pagespeed of your site, it shows a good result for images. Only potential saving mentioned there is your logo https://res.cloudinary.com/reviewdata/image/upload/f_auto,q_auto/v1593542730/Logo_review_saude_beleza from 10kb to 6kb, by resizing to the right dimension.

The image currently has dimension of 999 x 139px with 10.32KB for webp format.
However your site display this image with 235 x 33px. By sizing this down to this dimension with Cloudinary, the image size would be 2.69KB for webp format:
