Under Newsletter > Subscription > Antispam, there are 4 options:

    • Disable
    • Akismet
    • Antiflood
    • Captcha

Next to each item is a question mark icon, which, if you click it, takes you to a documentation page regarding Antispam ( url is https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/documentation/subscription/antiflood/ ).

1st problem: On that page it says “Tools available in Newsletter” and the first one is something called “Antibot”. Where is this “Antibot” feature in Newsletter? I cannot find it? It is not one of the 4 options that I’ve listed above.

2nd problem: The first option in the Antispam settings is something called “Disable” but there is no explanation for what this setting does. Disable what?

The documentation link has some screen shots but they seem old, and are not in sync with the current version of Newsletter. I am hoping the solution is some tweaks to the documentation, plus the UI in the Plugin settings itself will probably need some tweaks as well (to explain what ‘Disable’ means, and to expose the Antibot feature, if it still exists?)

Thanks for listening and for the great product!

    Hello @sneader,

yes, you’re completely right. We will update our documentation pages in the near future. About your questions:

1/2. The Antibot (which equals to Antispam) is active by default and the “Disable” option refers to that. Its description is what you see in the doc page you’ve linked under the Antibot section.

Hope this clarified things a bit.

    Regards,
    Michael

Hi Michael! Looking closer at both the docs and UI, I think that in the UI, previous versions showed “Disable Antibot”, but now the UI just says “Disable”, so in addition to any documentation changes that you planned to make, I think a UI change is also needed, correct?

Thanks again for listening, and for the fantastic product!

    Hello @sneader,

yes you’re right, we’d need to change the plugin itself as well to make it more clear. Thanks for the feedback and for the kind words!

    Michael
