I heard that Amazon will discontinue the Site Stripe Image and Image+Text embeds on December 31st, 2023, and only support the PA API after that.

My question is, does this plugin use the PA API?

If not, will it be updated before December 31st to use the PA API?

Hi,

The plugin supports PA-API. You can add a unit by navigate to Dashboard -> Auto Amazon Links -> Add Unit by PA-API.

By the way, I could not find any specific information regarding the end of SiteStripe. If you could provide a link that provides such information, it would be appreciated.

FWIW, when I tried to use the PA-API with the Auto Amazon Links plugin, I got a TooManyRequests error back from Amazon when I clicked “Check API”, even thought it was the first time I tried it. When I tried it a second time, it locked me out.

Thanks for the information regarding the end of SiteSripe.

As for the TooManyRequests error, you should test your keys on ScratchPad. If you haven’t made an actual referral in the last 30 days, you get such an error though.

On that error.

I am using a long dormant Amazon Affiliate account, so no “actual referral in the last 30 days” – so does one need to essentially set up their content site and generate legit click-throughs (or actual sales?) on Amazon before they can actually get this plugin to work? Or will it work even though you can’t get a positive result on the test?

@goodcarts Remove the PA-API keys from the setting then create a Search unit.
