    Hello,

Thanks for a great plugin, it is extremely useful.

By default, iThemes Security prevents access to editing files, fx by hiding the Editor. Is there a way to allow file editing only for administrator users?

The problem is, that when I tell people to disable iThemes Security before they can edit their robots.txt or their css-files in the Editor, they find it irritating and for some, it makes them question the reliability of the plugin.

    Best regards,
    Alex

First of all there is no need to “disable iThemes Security”. I guess with “disable” you are actually referring to “deactivate”…
Just disabling the relevant setting in the plugin WordPress Tweaks module would do the trick, with the added benefit that the security plugin’s other features continue to protect the site.

…they find it irritating and for some, it makes them question the reliability of the plugin.

Clearly those users need to be educated. Explain to them that disabling the (plugin/theme) editor is a widely accepted security measure. Then show them how to toggle the plugin setting once they need to edit a file or simply disable the plugin setting by default.

The above is just my opinion and not iThemes.
