Adding plugin with shortcode to a page

I am trying to get this plugin to activate on a page in 5.2.3 but I add it using the shortcode block in Gutenberg but then the page just doesn’t save and the preview doesn’t load. After a while there is an error “page update failed”. Previously I had the plugin in a widget on my home screen but want to move it.
