A step backwards
-
I checked one of my sites this morning to find that the GADWP plugin has substantially changed, with the majority of views no longer visible without paying a subscription. While I can appreciate the drive to monetise something, particularly where it has a high take up, I would have hoped that you would be monetising additional functionality, not functionality that was free yesterday. Everyone that uses this plugin already has a GA account, and within that GA account they can share it with others. Plus it is free. With far richer and customisable reports. You have now prevented me (on over 100 sites) providing that facility to my clients through the WordPress dashboard. So I am going to deinstall it everywhere and find something else to replace it. I hope your business case took that into account when you acquired it a few months back and decided to make these changes. A bit of an own goal I think. I am a developer, working pretty much with charities. Everything is on a shoestring, which is why we are using WordPress in the first place. I would imagine that those with more income willing to pay for this will be a very small part of the installed base. Good luck with it.
