IF you already have this plugin installed, you might keep it until a Featured Images issue is resolved in the above alternative plugin I recommended.
My Featured Images error message on the above recommended plugin have been resolved by one of its contributors with a new updated version. Here’s the link again to check it out: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ricg-responsive-images .

What is the browser support for ricg? It looks like it uses srcset which isn’t supported by FF or IE. Does it work with those?
Hal,
I’m not a contributor or developer for the RICG Plugin and up until recently I had this installed instead: https://github.com/kylereicks/picturefill.js.wp/tree/master. When I noticed that it had NOT been updated since August 2014, and the developer wasn’t replying to forum requests, I figured that maybe he didn’t have time to keep up with it. Then I read these blog posts and decided that the Core Developers liked the implementation of srcset as an eventual core component without a full implementation of the Picture element: http://css-tricks.com/official-responsive-images-plugin-wordpress/ and http://css-tricks.com/responsive-images-youre-just-changing-resolutions-use-srcset/. As you have indicated, what this really boils down to is WHEN the browser developers implement total acceptance of srcset, AND WHEN you are willing to jump on the bandwagon. I decided to jump on now.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, yes. Unfortunately, I need to support IE and FF now. I started using this plugin way back when because the support and documentation were both excellent at the time, even though the plugin itself was pretty new. Obviously something has happened to Kyle. That’s a real shame. There are 2 problems I have with this plugin that are unlikely to get fixed now.
