404 Errors When Accessing Forums

    Our website uses a plugin called bbPress to create forums. When I connect the Jetpack plugin to WordPress.org, non-admin users get a “Well, this is embarrassing” 404 not found error when they try to access any of the forums, whether the forums are public or private. Users with the Administrator role are able to access the forums without difficulty. When I disconnect the Jetpack plugin, forum access for non-admin users is restored.

    Thanks for the link. The reason I posted to this forum is because the problem I’m experiencing only exists when I connect the Jetpack plugin to WordPress.org. There is some kind of unfavorable interaction going on between the Jetpack plugin and the bbPress plugin. At this point I don’t want to make an assumption as to where the root of the problem is located.

    I will also post to the bbPress support forum, but I’d still like this post to remain on the Jetpack forum in case other Jetpack users have run into this same problem. Thanks.

    I install the bbPress and try to replicate the issue on a Jetpack site but I’m not seeing any similar issue for non-admin.

    Could you please temporarily deactivate all the site’s plugins except for Jetpack + bbPress and clear your browser’s cache. Then try checking again. If it works, then we’ll know that another plugin is conflicting here. You can re-enable your plugins one by one, trying checking in between, until you find the one causing the conflict. You can leave it disabled or reach out to the plugin developer for a fix.

    If disabling plugins doesn’t help, it may be the theme. Temporarily switch your theme to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-One. Then try checking again. If it works, then you know it’s a problem with the theme, and you can reach out to the theme developer for a fix.
