Recommended blogs let you share the blogs you enjoy with your subscribers and readers. This guide explains how to add, manage, and remove blog recommendations from your Reader profile.
Your recommended blogs are visible in two places:
- Your Reader profile, which other users can view by clicking your name or avatar in the Reader.
- The Gravatar hover card that appears when someone hovers over your avatar anywhere in the Reader.
When someone subscribes to a blog, they may also see the blog owner’s recommended blogs in the post-subscribe confirmation.
There are three ways to recommend a blog:
- Open the Reader by clicking on the reading glasses icon at the top right of the Admin Bar.

- Click Lists in the left sidebar.
- Under Lists, select Recommended Blogs.

- If your list is empty, click the “Add recommendations” button.
- If you have already recommended blogs, click the Edit button and select the Sites tab.
- Search for a blog or scroll through your subscriptions.
- Click the Recommend button next to the blog you want to add.
The blog now appears in your Recommended Blogs list.

- Any blog with an RSS feed
You do not need to be subscribed to a blog to recommend it.
When someone recommends your blog, you receive a notification. This notification confirms that another user added your blog to their recommendations.
