WinGEM2

WinGEM2 is Geophex’s Windows-based software for controlling GEM-2 family multi-frequency electromagnetic (EM) instruments and acquiring survey data. It streamlines field operations by providing real-time instrument monitoring, intuitive setup, and reliable data logging suitable for geophysical surveys such as UXO detection, environmental site characterization, archaeology, and geotechnical investigations.

Key capabilities:

• Instrument control: configure operating frequencies and sampling parameters; start/stop acquisition; monitor instrument status (e.g., battery, temperature).
• Real-time visualization: view in-phase and quadrature signals by frequency with live strip-chart displays for rapid quality control.
• Data logging: record synchronized sensor readings, timestamps, and (when connected) NMEA GPS positions for georeferenced surveys.
• On-the-fly QC: zeroing/balancing routines, simple filtering/stacking, and line editing to reduce noise and spikes before export.
• Data export: save in straightforward ASCII/CSV formats compatible with common GIS, contouring, and interpretation tools.
• Field-friendly workflow: project templates, survey line management, and support for rugged Windows laptops/tablets via serial/USB connections.
