What is a sustainer?

A Sustainer is an individual, church, or organization that commits to regularly pray for and financially support The Wilds. The faithful, regular support of Sustainers is an invaluable component of our ministry. Since a Sustainer’s financial gifts are not designated for a specific project, The Wilds is able to use them for the greatest needs in each ministries’ operations (The Wilds of North Carolina, The Wilds of New England, or CampsAbroad). Approximately 20% of our operating budget comes from the charitable support of our dear friends! This program ultimately allows us to keep our camper costs low, enabling us to share the Truth of God with the love of God to the largest number of campers possible.

Sustainers are comprised of people who have had various relationships with The Wilds. These friends are former staff, former campers, parents of campers, local churches, and even organizations and businesses! The thing that all of these people and organizations have in common is that they believe in the mission of The Wilds and want to take part in it.
