For a Safari Experience Like no one other!
There are many reasons why you should choose Wild Planet Safari over the 100`s of other Kruger Safari options but none are more convincing than the reviews we have received from our previous guests. We have reviews on four different platforms and all are independently audited.
EXCELLENT Based on 84 reviews Posted on AzzurraTVerified Unforgottable experience My husband and I spent 5 nights in Kruger (Berg-en-dal, Satara, Skukuza) and one night in the mountains at Blyde River Canyon. The experience was unforgettable! Everything went smoothly right from the booking, with excellent support from Thale and a secure payment method. The experience was fully personalized to our needs and there were no issues or surprises. During the tour we were assisted by our guide Chris and chef Hope, both knowledgeable, punctual, friendly, and helpful! The park is beautiful, Chris helped us spot many animals, while Hope prepared sublime meals for us (also separate vegetarian meals for me!!!). We are extremely satisfied with the experience we had with this company, we highly recommend it!!!Posted on RiyaVerified Kruger National Park The Kruger National Park tour was an amazing trip saw lions, elephants, and giraffe guide was friendly, the journey was smooth, and full of happy momentsPosted on Lucia DVerified Safari with great guidance My husband and I had a wonderful experience. We did a private safari with a wonderful guide named Ryan. In every ride, he did the best he could to spot as many animals as possible. He had an excelent knowledge about plants and animals and their interactions. He was also a great cook, very helpful and a very pleasant company. We are gonna miss our safari and our guide.Posted on Luis Mauro RosaVerified Kruger safari tour with Wild Planet We had a great time. Our guide was sensational, great guy. We did the 6 day tour covering 3 of the camps, Berg en dall, Skukuza and Satara. The wether was great. All the fees were taken care by Wild Planet Safari. Great atmosphere, only my wife and I.Posted on Maggie IVerified A honey badger, tiny Malachite kingfisher, big 5,ugly 5 and many more - says it all! Brilliant! Our 5 day stay in Kruger with guide and chef was amazing. We saw all the big 5 and ugly 5 and many more besides. Our guide Chris had phenomenal skill at spotting things and Hope the Chef cooked delicious food. This was our first real safari and it surpassed all our expectations. Thale was also very helpful in the initial planning of our trip. An amazing, very memorable trip.Posted on WestVerified 9 Night Safari Review 7 Nights in Kruger & 2 Nights in Hoedspruit WILD PLANET SAFARI – CHRIS AND HOPE, YOU WERE AMAZING and a credit to the company! We flew into Johannesburg and took a transfer to Kruger, approximately five hours with a couple of stops. The transfer on the way there was fine; however, the return journey had too many people to be comfortable for that length of time. (Not Wild Planet’s fault—more an issue with the transfer company allowing too many passengers.) Upon arrival in Kruger, we were met by Chris and Hope, our guide and eagle eyed spotter (excuse the pun!) and chef. We spent seven nights in Kruger, and the game drives were everything we hoped for and more. We saw an unbelievable number of animals and birds—so many that even Chris was surprised. Seeing two leopards in that time was apparently unheard of. The game drives are what make this trip worthwhile. No spoilers—you’ll have to visit to experience it yourself. We found it incredible, simply incredible. Our days generally started with a 04:30 wake up, followed by coffee and rusks before heading to the camp gates for the 05:30 opening. Then a morning drive, sometimes stopping for an alfresco breakfast cooked by Hope, or returning to camp for breakfast. After a break, we headed out again in the afternoon before returning for dinner. A note for travellers: depending on the package you book, there are times when lunches or dinners are at your own expense. Personally, we would have preferred fewer “own expense” meals, as we would have happily continued with Hope’s catering. The food overall was great. Hope does an excellent job with hot and cold breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Chris and Hope join you for meals, which is lovely—never overbearing, just a nice way to get to know them both. Chris was a fantastic guide—friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, with 20 years of experience. The WhatsApp groups among guides are also very helpful for sharing sightings. Hope was brilliant too—friendly, attentive, and excellent at spotting wildlife. As the chef, he catered to our preferences and was great company. Both are a huge credit to Wild Planet Safari, and I’m sure they’ll be with the company for many years to come. Our last two nights were spent at Call of the Wild Guest House (separate review on their page). One day we did the Panorama Route tour. In all honesty, it was okay, but I wouldn’t do it again. It’s a full day with nice views, but nothing incredible. I would have preferred another night in Kruger National Park or simply staying at Call of the Wild, where walking among giraffe and zebra on the grounds was fantastic. We also visited the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre (review on their page). I fully support rehabilitation efforts, and the museum information was great, but for us, that’s where the positives ended. Whether due to different regulations, I’m not sure, but we felt uneasy during the tour. The enclosures didn’t sit right with us, nor did how comfortable the animals seemed with humans, which raises concerns about release. Before the trip, I liaised with Thale over email for quite some time. She eased any concerns, answered all queries, and clarified the itinerary. Being in the UK while Wild Planet Safari is based in South Africa naturally brings some worry about making payments not protected by UK schemes. However, I can confidently assure anyone with the same doubts that everything is perfectly legitimate. Thale provided all company information I needed to do my own research and even allowed a lower deposit to ease concerns. Overall, we had a fantastic trip and would highly recommend Wild Planet Safari. Chris and Hope are a credit to the company, and Thale organised everything with ease. Any negative remarks in this review are 100% not aimed at Wild Planet Safari—they relate only to experiences with other companies. Travellers should note that accommodation within Kruger National Park rest camps differs from UK standards (star ratings, cleanliness, etc.). We would say our accommodation was more 2 star than the advertised 3 star thatched “houses.” However, improvements are constantly being made at every camp we stayed in. Air conditioning is available but not great—noisy, and we had to request filter cleaning due to dust, which was resolved quickly.Posted on Quest54913260792Verified Awesome 9 Day Kruger Safari This was an amazing trip and extremely worth it! My now finacé (he proposed on the trip!!) and I booked the private 9 day Kruger Safari with camping accommodations for Dec 27, 2025 to Jan 4, 2026. Thale was extremely helpful in booking the perfect trip and helped make it unique for us! She helped us book a bird hide for one night, scheduled us both a morning bush walk and a night tour run through the park. Chris was our actual tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about all the mammals. He worked really hard to get us our target animals as well as all the normal big targets. We were able to see lots of wild dogs, the Big 5 multiple times, the Ugly 5 multiple times, jackals, and some many different bird species. My finacé is a big birder and he wishes we were able to stop more for some of the smaller birds. However, we were still able to see so many birds and when we would ask Chris would stop or backup so that we could get better looks at the bird. The camping accommodations were spacious and very comfortable. Chris and his assistant would break and teardown the camp for us with us only responsible for packing our personal items. If it rained they were really quick to help us put on the rain fly and seal up the tent to keep us dry. All the campgrounds (minus the bird hide) had electricity, running water, and they provided us with a fan. On top of that the food was delicious! Everything they made and provided was delicious and very accommodating to us being vegetarians! I can not recommend this place enough!Posted on Deepa TiwariVerified Unforgettable African Adventure! Our trip with Wild Planet Safari was absolutely amazing! From the moment we landed, everything was perfectly organized. The safari guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we saw the Big Five. The accommodations were comfortable and surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Every detail was handled professionally, making our journey stress-free. Highly recommended!Posted on Lar WVerified It was perfect! We booked a 4-day safari with Wild Planet, and Eric made it the most wonderful experience. He was a great safari guide, the best cook and we appreciated the time with him very much. He gave us so many great moments and a lot of infomation; we saw the magnificent seven and are just so grateful. After such intense and wonderful days together, it was really hard to say goodbye. But we will come back, and in the meantime, we will recommend Wild Planet Safari (with Eric) to all our friends. Thank you so much for this incredible experience, Eric. We are glad to have met you.Posted on Fangyi ZVerified Deep wildlife explore in Kruger Unforgettable 6 days trip in northern - central (Punda Maria - Mopani - Tamboti - Satara) Kruger National Park, thanks for our guide Chris and assistant Hopson. Every day we spent both morning and afternoon, even full day on safari. Chris was very professional and showed us many different species of animals and birds. Hopson made breakfast, lunch and dinner for us, in this way we save both money and time. If you are keen on mammal and bird watching, and want not only experince, but also deep explore the wildlife in Kruger, I will highly recommand Wild Planet Safari.
