Academy, wtf?

So, we all knew Daniel Day-Lewis and Javier Bardem were going to win their respective Oscars, I just feel it for Johnny Depp (who was awesome in Sweeney Todd, though I would have been really surprised if he won this year) and Viggo Mortesen (who I've heard was totally awesome in "Eastern Promises") , oh well, I didn't see their respective movies, so I can't really tell.

But I've seen "Elisabeth" ,and I've seen "Sweeney Todd"...

Costume design for "Elisabeth"? "Sweeney Todd" deserved it so much better! I loved Elisabeth, but Sweeney's costumes were all made from scratch, designed for each character's personality and role in the movie. The "Elisabeth" cast looked... stiff :S (and I've read a couple of re-enactors reviews where they heavily criticise the costume design)

AND I've seen "Ratatouille"... and I've seen "Persepolis"

Seriously, people, wtf.

Thank you, Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences, for prooving to be as predictable as always.
Sorry if someone doesn't agree with this, I'm not in good humours and I'm finding very difficult to express myself in English, which shouldn't be happening. Crap.

Went to the cinema this weekend, twice...

...first saw "Asterix et les Jeux Olympiques" with the gang. It was crappy, but funny. And got to see people from my home city in the movie. There were lots of almost-nude athletes, and Greeks, yummy yum. And the man playing Brutus was hilarious, I like him :)

The second one was "The Darjeeling Limited", recomended by Celtman at his cinema class.

I loved it. I thought I would like the movie (Three brothers who haven't spoken to each other in a year go into a spiritual journey on a train across India, how could I resist? *cough*Adrien Brody*cough*), but didn't know I would like it so much. Both the script and the image were amazing. The characters were so believable, so natural, they told so much with very few words. I got out of the theater with the feeling that these people really worked well together. The music is fantastic too, old Bollywood classics and well-know pop-rock pieces. Great use of slow motion, too, but the zoom was a bit crazy.
And it also convinced me Owen Wilson is a good actor, yes, yes he is (alright, he's cute, but I never liked much the movies where he worked in, until now)
Wish I could do a better review of this wonderful movie, but got work to do :P

A subjetive portrait... in a 100x81 cm canvas... in two days... seriously, Paint teacher, you're mad.

I hate having my classes on the afternoon, 21:30 is not a good time to get out of class :(

I have to run to Madrid city again. Got to buy rubber for a project due this Friday :S I can't believe how much money I've spent on materials this year, it's insane :O

Bro phoned from home yesterday night. He's back from Scotland for Christmas time, I'll go back the 22nd. Miss him and my parents :(

And got to do a Photograph project due tomorrow, but haven't started it yet. Why? Because I can't learn how to use the f*ckin' camera, I hate it -_-'

Still alive, almost...
Studying for a big fat exam on Tuesday, also planing how to finish a couple of projects due for the same day, when they're still "in process" :S
Also, I'm starting to dislike Constable, don't know why, I just don't like him that much anymore. And Seurat? wtf dude?! Why using science to paint colors? that's boring XD
But Courbet rules, yeah, so does Van Gogh and Gericault, yay for "The Raft of the Medusa" (notice I'm not following any chronological order here, that means all my brain cells turned into blancmange a while ago -_-') Seriously, after an hour of conversation with

boudicca_keltoi prooves it XD both our brains are melting because of this year's subjects now, and start saying stupid, meaningles things, like that pomegranates are evil, pervy fruit things *_*

At least Woody Allen soundtrack music is good for studying, relaxes and at the same time moves me to keep studying. I would play the recently discovered "All is full of love" by Bjork, but that would move me into drawing fluffly, angsty art, which I cannot allow myself to right now :P

Hope the girls had fun with the O'Brian meeting at Germany :D I wish I could have gone :P

Also, Happy late B-day to Celtman, he turned 44 yesterday ^^ (OMG so old!!!eleven1! XDDD)

Will be going for dinner in a quarter of an hour. Hope I'll have more study time tomorrow :P

Will be going home for a couple of days, to have a short "vacation", will be back Sunday afternoon. 4 hours in a train are a pleasure if you're acompained by a couple of good books ^^ I'll try to read the other half of "The Hundred Days", which so far I'm enjoying enormously ;)

Ok, he's the bad guy in this one, but damn, this is a filmic couple I never thought I would live to see :D

Dunno which will be the dates of releasing here at Spain, but damn, I want to see this one NOW!

I hate late updates, and this is definitely a very, very late update. I know in my last post I said “Tonight I’ll tell you about London”, but it was just when second year started, and man, it’s been busy since then :S Also, I’m starting to feel better after a huge allergy attack I had these last two weeks ( Or a cold, I don’t know what it was and I don’t care) , the worst taking place during the weekend and this Monday at class. I was sneezing so often and so hard that it even caused me nausea :S
I’ll start with a little summary of the other half of London holyday (still there’s not much left to tell about it anyway :P)
*So, these are my two favorite babies from the week ;) The first is for Lupin III fans, the second is for MnC fans ^^ (Sorry, it’s just about 3-4 seconds long each, but mind that’s a full day work you’re looking there ;) )
