Help and healing for struggling neighbors

Since 1893, we’ve been here to help... thanks to caring individuals like you.

You make our enduring legacy of help, hope, and healing possible!

Through the years, many things about our ministry have changed. As the needs of our neighbors continue, your generous support has helped us renovate and expand our facilities. We’ve gone beyond our humble beginnings to now serve thousands of men, women, and children each year!

While our world—and even Wheeler Mission—are ever changing, one thing remains the same: Our commitment to model Christ’s love and provide the help, hope, and healing that change lives.

Winter at Wheeler Mission

As the weather gets colder, outdoor conditions become unpredictable and increasingly hazardous for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Both Indianapolis and Bloomington see a surge in the number of men, women, and children seeking shelter.

“Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

Love is the foundation of everything we do. When we lead with compassion, we reflect Christ to those around us. May love guide your words and actions today.
Zachariah spent decades caught in addiction, instability, and survival mode. But even in the darkest moments, he felt God calling him forward.

After a breaking point, he walked miles to get help and arrived at Wheeler Mission. There, everything changed.

Through mentorship, faith, and community, Zachariah found healing, purpose, and a new life in Christ. Today, he’s in the Servant Leadership Training program—free from the addiction that once controlled him.

“It’s not my story—it’s God’s glory.”

March is here, and so are new opportunities to make a difference.

Right now, our shelters are in need of everyday essentials to continue serving our neighbors with care and dignity. You can help by donating:
💙 Towels & washcloths
💙 New men’s and women’s underwear
💙 Men’s, women’s, and children’s socks
💙 Soap and body wash
💙 Men’s deodorant

These simple items go a long way in restoring comfort and confidence for those we serve every day. Drop off donations or learn more about how to give at the link in our bio.
It is World Water Day! 🚰

Today we are reminded how essential clean water is for every person. We invite you to help by donating bottled water to Wheeler Mission. Your gift provides refreshment, dignity, and care to neighbors experiencing homelessness: Link in bio.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” Romans 15:13

Hope changes everything. As we trust in Him, we are filled with peace that carries us through every challenge. May that hope guide you this week.
Former Wheeler Mission program graduate Justin Kramer opens up about the role that community generosity — especially from the @colts and the late Jim Irsay — played in his healing journey. Through meal support programs like Colts Caring Mondays, Irsay helped ensure that men like Justin could focus on recovery, not survival. Justin now serves at Wheeler Mission, offering the same hope he once received.
