Eight Pinellas County Schools students and their visual arts teachers traveled to New York City to be recognized among the nation's most talented young artists at the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Ceremony.

Dennis Russo from Lakewood High and Shannon Scott from Leila Davis Elementary were selected as this year's Library Media Specialists of the Year.

Pinellas County Schools Police Department has announced the 2025-2026 police and safety officer awards.

The honor recognizes exemplary new teachers who have demonstrated excellence by representing the district's Core Values. 

The district's graduation rate for 2024-25 rose nearly two percentage points above the previous year 

Pinellas County Schools has launched a new on-demand, online self-paced workshop to simplify the process. 

Build the Habits of Good Attendance Early

Missing more than 15 days of school can make it harder to learn to read and develop good fluency. Students can fall behind if they miss just a day or two days every few weeks. Being tardy frequently leaves students out of important morning class routines.  Try and develop a backup plan with family and neighbors if you need help getting your child to school.

Friday Family Lunch is a tradition unique to Westgate.  Families are invited to school every Friday to have lunch with their child in our outdoor courtyard or with other families across from the cafeteria.
