Dairy in WA

Western Dairy is supported by approximately 49,000 cows, which collectively produce 344 million litres of milk annually. This substantial milk production is a testament to the efficiency and scale of the local dairy operations.

Beyond its agricultural output, the dairy sector plays a significant role in food security. It contributes over $245 million to the state’s economy and provides employment opportunities for well over 1000 people

Who we work with

Western Dairy and Dairy Australia work together as separate entities to support the WA dairy industry by addressing local priorities through tailored services.

Western Dairy together with the Western Australian Farmers Federation (WAFarmers), the WA government, and major milk processors, together we aim to build a sustainable, innovative, and best-practice-focused industry that fosters growth, confidence, and long-term viability.
