Wenlin is a comprehensive piece of software that helps us to learn the Chinese language. This program can be used by anyone interested in learning/improving his or her command of Chinese, from complete beginners to advanced students, including native Chinese speakers.

This learning program provides a huge Chinese-English dictionary with more than 10000 words and 300000 compound words and phrases, including pieces of Chinese literature. Wenlin also features a text editor, audio flashcards with native human voices (with Mandarin pronunciation), etc. We can search a word by writing it with the brush tool (handwriting recognition), or by writing its pinyin pronunciation.

It is possible to change the pinyin fonts and Hanzi fonts and sizes, edit (cut/copy/paste) the dictionary and add our own words to it, print the documents, view the English or the Chinese word list, and make some other customizations.
