El Grupo Compostela de Universidades (GCU) lanza la convocatoria 2025-2026 de su proyecto Erasmus+ KA171-HED (ref. 2024‑1‑ES01‑KA171‑HED‑000239621), financiado por la Unión Europea y destinado a promover la movilidad de estudiantes de grado y posgrado recién titulados de instituciones de educación superior adheridas de la Región 10 en América a las universidades españolas del Consorcio Erasmus+ KA130-HED para la Movilidad GCU EU-América.

GCU has been invited to a plenary session at the FAUBAI 2026 Conference in Florianópolis (Brazil) on the role of university networks in internationalisation.

GCU will participate as a speaker in the 5th Cultural Routes Managers’ Meeting in Huelva, reinforcing its academic role in European cultural initiatives.

GCU is preparing a volunteer program in León, inspired by Jaca’s experience, reinforcing academic and cultural cooperation along the Camino de Santiago.

The GCU president attended a preparatory meeting in Paris on European cultural routes, strengthening the academic dimension of these initiatives.

The GCU took part in the 14th Annual Advisory Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, held in Cappadocia (Türkiye), where it was specially invited to coordinate the meeting of universities belonging to the network of the European Institute of Cultural Routes. During the event, it was announced that the Institute had been granted the 2025 Grupo Compostela–Xunta de Galicia Prize.

Representatives of the partner organisations of the CGU Volunteering with Heritage in Forests GAL programme held their first official meeting to coordinate efforts and jointly plan activities.

As part of his pilgrimage along the Camino Portugués, Professor David Green, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Worcester (United Kingdom), held a series of institutional meetings between 23 and 29 May 2025 with representatives of the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) and its member institutions. These activities were part of the Meetings on the Way initiative, promoted by the CGU to reinforce academic ties along the Camino de Santiago.

The Compostela Group of Universities participated in the first EUniWell Associated Partners Meeting, organised by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), which brought together 16 entities from various sectors to collaborate on well-being.

The Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas will host the UPC International Fair on 17 April 2026, an international event aimed at promoting academic mobility and inter-university cooperation.

Pécs Summer School at the University of Pécs will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026 with special discounts for students from CGU member universities. The summer programmes, lasting two or four weeks, will take place in July and August, with direct application and no institutional nomination required.

The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) invites professors and senior researchers to take part in its new PhD Programme in International Law, structured into two modules: Public International Law and International and Comparative Business Law. Each course includes approximately 15 teaching hours in a flexible format, with content adapted to the lecturers’ areas of expertise.

Professor Natalia Seco, from the universities of Vigo and Santiago de Compostela, completed a teaching stay at Karlstad University through Erasmus+, strengthening cooperation within the Compostela Group of Universities.

The international event will explore the challenges and opportunities facing higher education in the global era.

The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), a member of the Compostela Group of Universities, has achieved international accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET for three of its engineering programs: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering.
