Creating Self-Sustaining Water-Based Communities

Across the world, millions of water-based communities face the same challenge: abundant natural resources, yet limited economic opportunity, poor waste management, and unsafe access to water.

We believe that where there is water, there is potential.

By turning environmental challenges into economic systems, communities can build sustainable livelihoods, restore ecosystems, and create long-term resilience.

Guardians of the Nile

Young people from vulnerable backgrounds earn an income by cleaning plastic from the Nile and community, while learning practical water-based skills such as fishing and kayaking through our river clean ups, opening up local white water employment opportunities. Over the course of one year, our savings system prepares the Guardians toward their own micro-business while they gain independence through work, responsibility, and opportunity.

Water Warriors

Community members learn essential water skills such as swimming and fishing, turning the river Nile from a source of fear into one of opportunity. These classes build safety, confidence, and practical skills that can be used for everyday life and have a sustainable impact on the community as a whole.

Hydrolink

In alliance with Purifaaya, we Install water filtration solutions in our water based villages. This improves community health, reduces disease, and strengthens resilience through sustainable access to safe drinking water.
