Collaboration for Sustainable Water Solutions

Continued learning and innovation will accelerate progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 6.1 and will ensure sustainable water services for all people in the countries and communities we serve by 2030.

At Water for Good, we develop and share best practices alongside our partners: One For All, the WASH Agenda for Change, the Uptime consortium, the Accord Network, and the Safe Water Enterprise Community of Practice, as well as local and national partners.

Ethiopia

  • West Arsi Projects 1 and 2 Evaluation (March 2019)

    From October 2016 to March 2019, Lifewater implemented a Vision of a Healthy Village (VHV) project in West Arsi, Ethiopia to reduce WASH-related diseases and improve the health and wellbeing of children and families. The evaluation results demonstrate the project achieved its goal of improved health and wellbeing through safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

  • Kokosa Project 3 Evaluation (October 2021)

    From October 2018 to October 2021, Lifewater implemented a Vision of a Healthy Village (VHV) project in Kokosa, Ethiopia to reduce WASH-related diseases and improve the health and wellbeing of children and families. The evaluation results demonstrate the project achieved its goal of improved health and wellbeing through safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

  • Dodola Project 1 Evaluation (June 2022)

    From April 2019 to June 2022, Lifewater implemented a Vision of a Healthy Village (VHV) project in Dodola, Ethiopia to reduce WASH-related diseases and improve the health and wellbeing of children and families. The evaluation results demonstrate the project achieved its goal of improved health and wellbeing through safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

    From April 2016 to December 2019, Lifewater implemented a Vision of a Healthy Village (VHV) project in Kaliro, Uganda to reduce WASH-related diseases and improve the health and wellbeing of children and families. The evaluation results demonstrate the project achieved its goal of improved health and wellbeing through safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

The evaluation results demonstrate the project achieved its goal of improved health and wellbeing through safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

  • Community WASH Conversations (June 2022)

    This manual provides guidance for participatory group learning on water, sanitation, and hygiene in rural communities. Each lesson provides structure for a conversation with a group of community members to discuss motivations, challenges, and opportunities involved with improving health through WASH behaviors.

  • Healthy Home Guidebook (June 2022)

    This manual guides community members through small, achievable actions to stop the spread of WASH-related diseases by interrupting the most common routes of fecal-oral disease transmission. All interventions in this manual are designed to be carried out by households using locally-available materials.

  • MHM-Friendly Schools (June 2022)

    These lessons support teachers, school staff, and administrators to develop and foster a school environment that is supportive of girls. Participants will learn how to make school a place where girls can experience menstruation in a way that is comfortable and dignifying.

  • School WASH Clubs (June 2022)

    These student-centered lessons will help children actively participate in their own learning, develop healthy hygiene and sanitation habits, and become changemakers in their communities. This manual provides lesson content, discussion questions, and fun activities to teach children how to be advocates for health in their own lives and the lives of those around them.

    This manual equips schools with the necessary skills to manage the operation and maintenance of each WASH hardware type common on school grounds and ensure safe and long-term use.

  • Hand Pump Repair (January 2010)

    Like any other mechanical device, hand pumps wear out and break. This manual has been written to introduce pump technicians to the technical skills, knowledge, and attitudes considered necessary for a successful pump repair program. The focus is on technical aspects of repairing broken pumps rather than overarching issues of supply chain, policy environment, or business interactions.
