About Us
About Wallace Print
Wallace Print is a family-run large-format print and installation business based in Kent. We produce and install wall graphics, window vinyl, floor graphics, hoarding panels, banners and signs for commercial clients across Kent, London and the South East. Everything is produced in-house, from artwork review and material selection through to print, finishing and installation.
We have been doing this since 1985. Over forty years the business has grown from a single print operation into a company that handles projects across retail, construction, commercial interiors, facilities, public sector and trade print. In that time we have worked with clients ranging from independent businesses to national contractors, NHS trusts, local authorities, major retailers and developers. The work has changed considerably over that time. The way we approach it has not.
Forty Years in Large Format Print
Wallace Print was founded in 1985 by Mervyn Wallace, starting out of a garden shed in Kent. What began as a small family operation grew steadily as large format digital print developed as a discipline and demand from commercial clients increased.
Mervyn’s son Gary joined the business and the two built the company into a production partner for businesses, agencies and contractors across the South East. Wallace Print is now into its third generation, with Mervyn’s grandchildren and nephew actively involved in running and developing the business.
Forty years as large format printers in Kent has given us a detailed understanding of what affects print and installation outcomes in commercial environments. Surface conditions, access constraints, programme pressures, material performance in different settings — these are things we have dealt with across thousands of projects. That experience informs how we advise clients and how we plan and execute each project.
Being family-run affects how we work. Decisions are made by people with a long-term stake in the reputation of the business. Clients who have worked with us for years will recognise that consistency.
Everything Handled Under One Roof
In-House Production
All production is handled in-house. We do not subcontract print or finishing work, which means we control quality at every stage and can respond quickly when project requirements change. Our production facility in Kent handles everything from short-run prototypes to large multi-site programmes, with turnaround times that reflect the scale and complexity of each project.
Installation
Installation is managed by our own team. Our installers carry out site surveys, risk assessments where required and the physical fitting of graphics across walls, floors, windows and hoarding structures. We coordinate directly with site managers, contractors and facilities teams and work to agreed programmes. Surface preparation, access conditions and environmental factors are identified before installation begins, not on the day.
Material Selection and Advice
We advise on material selection at quotation stage based on the surface type, environment and expected service life of each project. Specifying the wrong material is one of the most common causes of poor performance in large format graphics, whether that is adhesion failure on an unprepared surface, premature wear on a high-footfall floor or an internal construction used in an outdoor setting. If a particular approach is not right for a project we will say so and recommend an alternative.
Print Responsibly, Advise Honestly
Sustainability is part of how we run the business. We have adopted eco-solvent inks, reduced waste across our production processes and invested in energy-efficient systems across our print and finishing facility. We can specify recyclable and lower-impact materials where these are appropriate for a project.
We are realistic about this. Large-format print involves materials and processes that have an environmental impact. Our approach is to reduce that impact where we can, be transparent about the options available and help clients make informed decisions about the materials they specify. If you have specific environmental requirements, raise them at quotation stage and we will advise on what is available. Further details on our approach are set out on our sustainability page.
Who We Work With
We work with businesses fitting out or maintaining commercial premises, construction contractors, retail operators, facilities teams, design agencies and trade print partners. We also work with developers and public sector organisations on larger programmes. Our clients have included NHS trusts, local authorities, national retailers, property developers and major contractors, alongside the many independent businesses and agencies we work with regularly across Kent and London.
For agencies and resellers we offer a trade service: production to specification, unbranded supply where required and installation without client-facing involvement. Trade pricing and confidentiality are standard across all partner work. More detail on our trade offering is available on our trade printing page.
