Stronger, Closer, Together:

VTN Couples Program

The transition after military service can present significant challenges for relationships. The VTN Couples Program provides veterans and their partners with the tools to transform these challenges into opportunities for growth, deeper understanding, and enduring connection.

Building Resilience in Love and Partnership

This 5-day residential retreat offers a supportive environment where couples can break down barriers, rebuild trust, and create a secure, thriving partnership.

What You Can Expect

Through the Couples Program, veterans and their partners work together to achieve:

Deeper Understanding

Participants gain insight into the effects of military service on both members of the relationship and learn to process these experiences together.

Improved Conflict Resolution

Couples develop skills to resolve disagreements, improve cooperation, and address challenges through positive problem-solving.

Stronger Emotional Bonds

The program explores love and attachment, helping participants recognize and respond to their partner’s emotional needs.

Healthier Communication

Couples address negative patterns that create distance, while fostering the positive interactions that strengthen their bond.

Program Objectives

The VTN Couples Program is built on evidence-based practices that help couples achieve:

  • A stronger emotional connection and a renewed sense of intimacy and responsiveness.
  • Greater ability to navigate the impacts of military service on their relationship and grow closer through shared understanding.

Eligibility and Next Steps

Participation in the Couples Program requires one partner to have completed VTN’s TSC and/or TEC programs or Wounded Warriors Canada’s TRP1, TRP2, and/or COPE programs.
