The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) is situated in the Faculty of Veterinary Science (FVS) of Bangladesh Agricultural University. It plays a vital role in educating future veterinarians and promoting animal health. The VTH offers a wide variety of animal clinical services, education, research, extension, and outreach programs. The hospital is reputed in the field of clinical services for farm and small animals. There are also specialized diagnostic and referral services that provide proper care for even critically ill animals. The ambulatory veterinary medicine program is one key step that aims at ensuring future veterinarians have received adequate training and practical experience in the field. The VTH serves as source of animal disease surveillance data for this region, enabling analysis of disease trends and their spatiotemporal distribution. The hospital extends its expertise to the community by way of extension and outreach. These community health services include offering advisory services and carrying out deworming, awareness, and vaccination programs. It has a fully equipped operation theater for either small or large animals, along with radiology and ultrasonography facilities.
