Doctoral Program
Department of Pathology also offers PhD degree. A doctoral candidate has to produce a dissertation based on his own research work on an approved topic. He also might have to take few deficiency courses, if necessary. Usually a doctoral student is allowed a period of 3 years for his research work that must include at least 2 years full-time study and one year for writing dissertation. Additional one or two years may be granted on special ground.
The major areas of research work for PhD dissertation include pathology, immunopathology, pathogenesis and epidemiology of animal diseases, biological and molecular characterization of the etiological agents, reverse genetics, immunological and molecular diagnostics, and development of vaccines.
Currently enrolled 14 students in doctoral Programme at the Department of Pathology.
