I was delighted to find this service provided by VisionSpace. It’s a website that allows anyone to find out how well their fixed length data will be compressed by the international CCSDS 124.0-B-1 standard. The standard was developed for housekeeping data sent from spacecraft to the ground on a noisy link with no return channel. However it has been designed to be configurable and VisionSpace are now proposing it for IoT applications because it’s very efficient and needs very little power or memory to run. It’s great to see this in action!
