Viewfinity Agent is the endpoint component of Viewfinity’s privilege management and application control solution. Installed on Windows desktops and servers, the agent enforces centrally defined least-privilege policies, allowing approved applications, installers, and administrative tasks to run with elevated rights without granting users local administrator accounts. It blocks or restricts unapproved software based on attributes such as publisher, file hash, path, or reputation, and can whitelist required business applications. The agent caches policies for offline operation, records detailed audit events for compliance and forensics, and securely communicates with the Viewfinity management server to receive updates and report activity. By removing broad admin rights and applying just-in-time elevation, Viewfinity Agent helps reduce malware risk, limit lateral movement, and lower support costs associated with privilege-related tickets. Viewfinity was later acquired by CyberArk; the technology continues as CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager.
