📅 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is almost here!
Why do we observe NCVRW every year? To honor victims, advocates, victim service professionals, and all those who work on behalf of survivors.
Think about it like this: Even if you’re not a crime victim, you know someone who is. It’s incumbent upon all of us to do what we can to make the world a better place for them and to try to prevent future victimization.
This year, you can participate from April 19-26 by sharing posts, supporting a victim service organization, learning about resources for survivors, attending an NCVRW event in your area, or all of the above!
Go to vicitmsofcrime.org/NCVRW to learn more about this important awareness week.
📚We’re advocating for victims at the @ala_pla Conference this week!
Why? Because libraries are safe spaces and libriarians and other staff interact with the public and connect patrons with resources — like our 24/7 VictimConnect Hotline.
🔖 We even brought along our new VictimConnect bookmarks! Remember, *any* victim of crime anywhere in the U.S. can call or text 1-855-4VICTIM or go to victimconnect.org any time of day for confidential, trauma-informed support.
April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Our kids deserve safe, loving environments.
Child abuse and neglect affect millions of kids across the U.S. each year – and the physical, emotional, and health consequences can last a lifetime. We don’t know the true toll of abuse and neglect because many children wait years to report and some never do.
Victims of *any* type of crime can access our VictimConnect Resource Center 24/7 from anywhere in the U.S. Our trauma informed specialists will offer you confidential support and find resources to help you on your healing journey. Get help now at victimconnect.org.
