390 Lt Collins St
Vertitech completed the remediation of the iconic Excelsior House, 390 Lt Collins St, Melbourne the works were completed in conjunction with Insite Engineering. The project was completed over 12 months and involved the following items:
- Remediation of defect concrete and render to façade elements via scaffold and specialist rope access.
- Application of protective coatings to concrete and steel elements.
- Installation of waterproof membrane system to every apartment balcony.
- Repair of steel fixings to every apartment balcony.
Collins Place
Collins Place are architecturally significant buildings that was designed in 1970 by IM Pei & Partners, and was completed in 1981, it was Melbourne’s first and Australia’s largest mixed-use project.
Vertitech continues to, proudly, work on this stately building precinct with Mirvac and Alpha Project Management to ensure the longevity and safety of both 35 and 55 Collins St. We scope of works involves:
- The application of silane coatings to mitigate water absorption into the concrete.
- Concrete repair of active spalls, delaminated concrete and step cracking including the installation of a cathodic protection system to the existing steel reinforcement.
- Specialist sealing of window frames to concrete elements.
- All works completed via the building maintenance unit to all 51 storeys.
Werribee Plaza – Joint Installation
Vertitech was engaged by Hacer to install 3500 lineal meters of expansion joint system to, both, the car park and internal tenancies at Werribee Plaza. The systems used were a combination of Unison Joints cover-plates and waterproof systems, as well as Fosroc caulking materials.
Vertitech also completed various concrete repairs and crack injection (using low viscosity epoxy resin).
Alcaston House, 2 Collins St – Façade Remediation
Vertitech completed the remediation of the majestic Alcaston House, located on the corner of Spring and Collins St, Melbourne it was Melbourne’s first apartment building, constructed in 1930.
Vertitech working with Inhabit Group (consultant engineers) completed the project over 14 months and involved the following items:
- Remediation of defect concrete and render to façade elements via scaffold and specialist rope access.
- Application of protective coatings to concrete and steel elements.
- Installation of waterproof membrane system to every apartment Juilet balcony.
- Repair of steel fixings to every apartment balcony as well as the replacement of the balustrade top rail.
- Installation of a new floating waterproof membrane to the roof level, including the lift motor room.
