I posted Accident by the River, my sga_art_santa assignment.

As I went looking for romance novel covers, I stumbled upon a blog with cover art by Allan Kass. I looked through page after page (by the time I stopped I had over 150 saved) when I came across the one for Milady Hot at Hand about a woman "who disguises herself as a boy in order to find the murderer of her father". I immediately fell in love with it and thought it would make a perfect Historical McShep Manip.




Fanfic

I wrote 0 words in December and 5317 words in January. It's been a slow start into the writing year. I did increase my yearly pledge to 200k, so I'm about 8k words behind at the moment. I'm blaming my obsession with Dragon Age, though I forced myself to stop after two complete play-throughs and starting several times to explore all possible origins.

The Other Ultimate Sacrifice Dragon Age. Female Amell & Alistair, Female Amell/Leliana. 462 words words. The first play-through left me with so many feelings I had to express them. I want to be able to remember what I felt when I finished the game for the first time, especially since the game didn't allow me to express my feelings in game. It felt so wrong (in a personal way, not that the game endings were bad) that I had to write my own epilogue.

Offers PG-13. John/Rodney. 5.5k words (4.5k in January, finished today). The guy who seduced and dumped John when he was a freshman in college turns up in Atlantis and would like to rekindle things. John is not on board with that, but it's nothing compared to how much Rodney freaks out.

Something felt off when I wrote this. It was like I couldn't properly get into their heads. Not sure what's up with that. I hope it doesn't last.



On the AO3 posting front, I'm still at August 2008. I'm at 285 works now, which means I've added two stories since the last report. In addition to the above mentioned, I also posted Tweets from Space.

I hope I can make up for my lack of writing this month. I still have to write 22k for the Extreme Big Bang. I actually wrote a 4k outline of a Sentinel/Guide McShep fic, which I should get to writing as long as the outline notes still make sense to me. I'll also definitely post something for romancingmcshep.
