The Space Norms Atlas provides an overview of 150 emerging norms for space security, based on 1,200 data points from 13 years of UN processes on the prevention of an arms race in outer space. It supports States in developing international instruments to preserve stability and prevent escalation in space.

At the annual diplomatic workshop in Annecy, France, senior diplomats, international organizations representatives and non-governmental experts discussed priorities, challenges and opportunities for the 2026 NPT Review Conference.
In May 2026, States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) will meet for the 11th Review Conference under exceptionally difficult circumstances. In a commentary for the European Leadership Network (ELN), VCDNP Senior Research Associate Federica Dall’Arche reflects on Italy’s perspective on the Treaty and underscores the need for strong European support and leadership in sustaining and reinforcing the NPT framework.
