RIP-OFF RECIPE

A little background: Neiman-Marcus, if you don't know already, is
a very expensive store; i.e., they sell your typical $8.00 T-shirt for
$50.00. Lets let them have it! THIS IS A TRUE STORY!

My daughter and I had just finished a salad at a Neiman-Marcus
Cafe in Dallas, and we decided to have a small dessert. Because both of
us are such cookie lovers, we decided to try the"Neiman-Marcus cookie."
It was so excellent that I asked if they would give me the recipe, and the
waitress said with a small frown, "I'm afraid not, but you can buy the
recipe."
Well, I asked how much, and she responded, "Only two fifty-it's a
great deal!" I agreed to that, and told her to just add it to my tab.
Thirty days later, I received my VISA statement, and the Neiman-Marcus charge
was $285.00! I looked again, and I remembered I had only spent $9.95 for two salads
and about $20.00 for a scarf. As I glanced at the bottom of the statement, it said, "Cookie Recipe-$250.00". That was outrageous!
I called Neiman's Accounting Department and told them the
waitress said it was "two fifty", which clearly does not mean "two hundred and
fifty dollars" by any reasonable interpretation of the phrase. Neiman-Marcus
refused to budge.
They would not refund my money because, according to them, "What
the waitress told you is not our problem. You have already seen the
recipe. We absolutely will not refund your money at this point." I explained
to the Accounting Department lady the criminal statutes which govern
fraud in the state of Texas. I threatened to report them to the Better
Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General's office for engaging in fraud.
I was basically told, "Do what you want. Don't bother thinking of
how you can get even, and don't bother trying to get any of your money
back." I just said, Okay, you folks got my $250, and now I'm going to have
$250 worth of fun." I told her that I was going to see to it that every cookie lover in the United States with an e-mail account has a $250 cookie recipe from Neiman-Marcus...for free. She replied, "I wish you wouldn't do this." I said, "Well, perhaps you should have thought of that before you ripped me off!" and slammed down the phone. So here it is!

Please, please, please pass it on to everyone you
can possibly think of. I paid $250 for this, and I don't want
Neiman-Marcus to EVER make another penny off of this recipe!

"You know what they say - If you rearrange the words in unemployed it spells opportunity."

OMG!!! I have so much to talk about & that sucks cause it’s so hard to type (look at the end of the entry)!!! Tuesday was absolutely incredible yet hectic!!! I mean but who really cares cause I met and saw the entire cast of Avenue Q. First I had to go to Tennis Camp from 8-10, which was okay. I could barely concentrate cause 1 minute I’d be all normal and calm and the next I was like omg I’m gonna meet John Tartaglia today!!! When I got home I just showered and started to get ready, which btw took forever cause I was so nervous. At around 3ish I picked Jenna up from her hair appointment and my g-ma drove us over to her house. When we got there, she took a quick shower and got changed into this adorable shirt. It was yellow & it had a picture of Ernie (as in Bert & Ernie) on it. He had his rubber ducky on it too (he was in a big tub of bubbles). Aaron gave me his application for Dunkin’ Donuts. I have to remember to bring it in to Jessica tomorrow. While she was in the shower her 3 birds tried to attack me even though she said that they harmless. We then went over to the Rag Shop & we picked up Pam. The whole ride we blasted the Avenue Q soundtrack. We took the 4:48 bus when we got to Mother’s (bus station). We hit MEGGA traffic on the way there. Jenna said that she felt like a mom because Pam & I were fighting. I mean Jenna thinks that we hate each other because of stupid little arguments like that. But anyway we got to the city around 6:30 and we obviously missed lotto. We first went to McD’s ad we grabbed a bit to eat on 44th. While we ate we hung out at the stage door for a while. Rick Lyon was the first to come in. Jenna didn’t say anything to him cause she doesn’t know him that well. Then Ann & Jordan came in & Jenna waved & gave a quick hello. They didn’t say much cause they looked like they were in a hurry. I missed Natalie walk in but Jenna saw her. Jen came in at “Jen time” (as Jenna likes to say), which is 7:24. It was really cute cause Jen noticed Jenna before she even knew she was coming. Jen gave her a hug and complimented her shirt. Jenna then introduced us to her. Jen waved to me but I think she mixed up the names cause I think she said Pam instead of Val. But I don’t really care.
Jen: Hey nice shirt!
Jenna: Oh God thank you! The $6.99 I paid for it was worth it now that somebody from the show noticed it!

After Jen walked in a girl who was waiting on line said that, “it’s so cute that you wore a Sesame Street shirt to the show!” She looked like she never saw the show before but she knew that it had puppets in it. She was a nice girl though. A few minutes later I saw Johnny (btw if you don’t know me: I LOVE HIM). I just grabbed onto Jenna’s arm and I said, “Jenna! Jenna! There he is!” He was so adorable cause his lips & teeth & tongue were all deep purple/blue. He had a blue slushy in his hand (so did Jen I think). He had the biggest smile on his face & he said “Hey baby” to Jenna. He had to rush in though cause it was almost 7:30. Me, Pam & Jenna then got on line & I was about as red as you could possibly get. I was just too ecstatic cause hell I just saw J Tart at one of his cutest moments.

We got into the theater & saw no understudy sign, which also made me very happy. We got to our seats, which were awesome! Good job with that Jenna! Then I practically bought everything at the souvenir stand. I have to remember to burn Jenna a copy of the cd that I got with the program. It only has "Tear It Up & Throw It Away" on it. I wanted to get the “Yeah, They’re Real” shirt but I wouldn’t fit into it cause the “twins” are a tad big for it. But I did get the “It Sucks To Be Me” shirt. I actually wore it to Tennis Camp the next day and no one understood it.

When I got back Pam told me that she got yelled at for calling our mom on her cell phone & that she took an illegal picture of the stage. I absolutely love her for that cause when Jenna even brought her camera out she got in trouble. So I have to remember to make another copy of that for her. When the show started, I couldn’t sit still cause I was to overjoyed. When the “Avenue Q Theme” started playing on the screens, Pam couldn’t believe that it started out as a cartoon.
Pam: Oh my God! You’re freakin’ kidding me!

I cheered so loud when J Tart came out (that sounded wrong) during “What Do You Do With A B.A. in English?” The show was just incredible though. Jenna kept telling me when all of the funny lines came up, which was every other 20 seconds. Pam seemed kind of shocked when they sang “Everyone’s A Little Bit Racist” because there was a whole row of Hasidic Jews in front of us. But they thought it was funny at parts. At other they seemed a little offended. I loved the Bad Idea Bears; they were so cute! Jenna said that Rick messed up though. When he was supposed to say, “Feel her boobs!” he said, “Take her home!” I didn’t even notice it though cause it wasn’t that big. J Tart was just too cute when he kept yelling, “Will you guys cut that out!?!” Then I almost fell out of my seat during “Loud As The Hell You Want” cause I was laughing so hard. But then again so was everyone else. While Princeton was breaking up with Kate Pam was so pissed off. She kept saying, “That rat bastard!” several times cause she thought that Princeton was a complete dick by this point. I think she was also mad because she felt bad for Kate (because she’s exactly like her). At the end of “ There’s A Fine, Fine Line” Jenna & I ran down to orchestra. We just made it there before the lights came on for intermission so we were able to see all of the empty seats. There was just enough for me Pam & Jenna cause it said that the show was sold out. I ended up sitting Right Orch row B, about 4 seats in or so and Pam and Jenna sat Left Orch, row C, 3rd and 4th seat off center aisle. I actually had another empty seat right next to me but I think Jenna didn’t want to leave Pam by herself. I moved over to that seat during “The Money Song”.

With 5 minutes left in intermission I took out a dollar in case anyone came towards me. The overdressed couple sitting next to me asked me what it was for. So I told them and some other things about the show and they said, “Wow! You know a lot about this! You must have seen a lot!” And they seemed really shocked when I told them that it was my first time seeing it. They didn’t understand until I told them about Jenna and how she’s seen it more than I can count. I then warned them about her during the NYU line during “Apartment”. I don’t think she shouted at that part though cause I don’t remember hearing her. But as the second act started Johnny was sitting right in front of me on the stage. He was to damn cute! During “The Money Song” I immediately gave my dollar to Natalie cause she was standing on stage & no one in the front row knew what was going on & plus she was only a foot away so I gave it to her. Then I quickly dug out another dollar from my purse so I could possibly give it to J Tart but he was in the back of the theater. When he was walking back towards the stage Jenna gave about $3 and he took it smiled, winked, & then walked on. Right as he was on the stairs of the stage, he saw me waving my dollar so he turned around and took it with a big smile then went on the stage. Neither Jenna nor me got a kiss from Princeton cause we weren’t all the way on the aisle. But there is always next week.

After the show we went to the stage door and waited. I got the whole cast to sign my Rod poster. It was so cute cause J Tart signed it in purple and both John & Stephanie signed above his eyebrows (Stephanie had the left one & John had the right eyebrow). Rick signed his name with a backwards R & he put a message coming out of Rod’s mouth. It was really cute. Pam loves Rick so much. That’s all she kept talking about was how much she loved Nicky’s voice. I guess the gym socks rolled up to his claves and the hot comb over didn’t seem to bother her that much.

Around this time the cops came and started putting up barricades cause there were so many people there. When John came over he gave Jenna a big hug & a kiss on the check. And when he saw that Pam was holding a camera he immediately pulled me towards him and put his arm around me. He is just too sweet. He was just like “Oh sure come over here!” without me even asking for a picture. He is truely the sweetest man on this planet! The picture actually came out pretty good. I look pretty normal and of course John looks hot (and adorable) as usual. I also got a picture with Stephanie and so did Pam. As John left with this really hot guy (who Jenna says is from Broadway – I think his name was Stephen Oremus) we couldn’t find Jen. We then saw her across the street talking to a cop. So we jaywalked our way over to her & Jenna said that she felt like a stalker. I got her to sign my poster. I also got a picture with her and we talked for a good ten minutes. Pam & Jenna mentioned how they just graduated (lucky bitches). I told her that I still have 2 more years in that hellhole. She laughed. And later she complimented my necklace, which I was really happy about cause I love that necklace a lot. We let her go and she walked into Barrymore’s (which Jenna predicted). She was really nice though. Everyone in the cast was just too nice especially Johnny & Jen.

As we let Jen go I hugged Jenna for a very long time. I am just so happy that I know someone who is good friends with the cast. THANK YOU JENNA! I LOVE YOU!

We stopped at Starbuck’s on the way to the bus station and I got my usual (Grande Java-Chip Frap). We took the 11:30 bus home. Jenna and I talked most of the way home & we looked at all the pictures we took.

I just can’t wait til next Saturday (the 10th) because I’m going to the city again with Jenna to see Avenue Q. We are both sitting in orchestra, on the aisle, and around the 14th row (I think). Hopefully we’ll get a kiss from Princeton this time during “The Money Song”. When I hand him the money I might point to my check so he’ll kiss me but I’m not sure if I want to put myself out there like that yet. Then after the show I might be aloud to stage door it with Jenna (if my mom lets me). Then we would be going to Broadway Barks. There is also a concert in Bryant Park that I still have to ask my mom about. Note to self: ask mother for permission to do these things & soon.

Oh and btw guess what brilliant thing I did yesterday while I was slicing carrots? Well since you asked, I cut off the tip my index finger (not the nail though), a little skin off of the tip my thumb, and some more skin off my middle finger (near my knuckle). I couldn’t go to the emergency room, to get stitches because all I took off was a lot of skin. So now I have those three fingers on my right hand all bandaged up & I can barely type a thing. I still have to go to my swim meet tonight that was moved to today because it was raining yesterday, which will probably be moved to tomorrow be it’s supposed to rain a lot tonight.

Ugh I have to start summer work tomorrow. Damn Honor Classes!

"One Short Day!"

OMG!!! This weekend has been so hectic! So, on Sunday morning I wake up as usual and I'm getting ready to go into the city because I was going to see Beauty & The Beast (cause the people in my Mom's office wanted to do something for their kids). I just finished eating breakfast when my Mom & G-ma come in carrying groceries. They said that all of the B-way actors are going on strike, which they heard on the radio. They said it would start at midnight and that I wouldn't be going to see Q on Tuesday w/ Pam & Jenna. Well, at first I was so upset then I didn't think they knew what they were even talking about so I went into the denial stage. Once I got on the bus (to the city) Kevin & Pam were being obnoxious once again and were teasing me about the situation. But I just listened to my cd player the entire way.
When we got to the city, we wandered around for a while. I went to Starbuck's and got a tall java-chip frap. w/ whipped cream (which was really good). Then we drifted into the Hershey store and we took this really cute picture with the Reeses Pieces guy (he was wearing this really cute candy wrapper costume). It is definitely a scrap booking picture.
At the theater my Mom asked some of the people there and they even said that the actors are going on strike! So by that time I was really depressed & I could barely concentrate on the show. The show was amazing even though I was upset about the equity strike & the fact that Christy Carlson Ramano wasn't there (which me & Pam were really looking forward to). The scenic design was gorgeous! When Mrs. Pott's sang Beauty & The Beast there were roses everywhere & it all looked so pretty. I couldn’t figure out some of the special effects though. Like when the Beast transformed into the really hot guy (that looked some-what like Fabio). I mean he was floating midair when all of the sudden *poof* he’s really hot! And whenever chip was in Mrs. Pott’s hands I didn’t know how he was floating in midair either. During intermission I was tempted to buy a Lumiere doll because he was too damn funny during the show. But I talked myself out of it because I felt reticules doing it. But my Mom did buy me the soundtrack and program.
During the second act Kevin decided to throw a Life Savor at me since he was sitting right behind me. It landed in my lap and it was all wet so I figured he already had it in his mouth. So I threw it back at him almost hitting his Mom, Debbie, who by the way gave Pam $20 for graduation. She's just too nice. After the show we went straight to the bus but we ended up waiting a good 20 minutes because a couple of people had to stop at Starbuck's. Then it took us an additional 30 minutes because Reggie (our bus driver) took us to the GW Bridge instead of the Lincoln Tunnel. Wow! I just noticed that there are so many things in NY named after American Presidents. But on the way home I called Jenna on her cell and started to tell her about the whole strike thing and she said that we will probably have to reschedule which made me cry. I tried so hard not to have a hissy fit. Even the 5 years olds that sat in front of me couldn’t understand why I was crying. But what made the situation even worse was when Pam & Kevin started singing "It Sucks To Be Me".

Pam & Kevin: “It sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka to be you!”

On the car ride home I practically snapped at everyone who talked to me because I was in such a bad mood. Well needless to say that that day ended on a bad note.

Okay so today was better. I woke up and looked all over the Internet and saw that they probably weren’t going to have the strike, which made me so happy! Then I had to rush straight to Tennis Camp, which turned out to be great. The coach said that we weren’t going to be doing any conditional work, which by the way is so awesome! I think her name is Mrs. Ferguson but I’m not sure. Noelle was also a coach so that was good except when I messed up every 5 seconds cause it was really embarrassing. There were about 7 kids total. I really did suck though cause I haven’t played since November. I did have a couple good serves out the 200 that I did throughout the whole day. Now my back really hurts because she was trying to teach me a new technique.

Then I got home and saw that there was no strike. I went to work for 4 hours and I thanked Sandy a thousand times for covering for me.

Now I only have about 20 more hours til I see Avenue Q. I hope the full cast is there tomorrow. The only reason that they wouldn’t be there is if they don’t come because their contracts are up (but they wouldn’t do that to their fans cause they love them too much) or some other strange reason like a stupid strike that was put together at the last minute (which better not happen). I just have a few more arrangements to make before I go. Oh I seriously hope that everything goes well because I’m about to die of anticipation!

Rubber ducks have never seemed so erotic!

This picture of Jenna & J Tart is so cute!!!!!! I love him and how crazy (yet adorable) he can be sometimes.

This is so HOT!!!
So is this.

I don't really want to study for my History exam tommorow cause I'm gonna have 2 hours in Gym to do that. But in Gym I have to go to Gerri Desmet & finish my Accounting final that we started 2 weeks ago. It's ridicules because since we've taken the course for 2 years we have to take the state exam. And it's about 7 hours long & we only have 45 minute periods so that definitley sucks. Damn the state!

No I will not makeout with you!

Okay work was okay yesterday. Sandy was the cleaner from 12-3 the she left cause her shift ended. Virginia came in and I designated myself as the cleaner. I had to work with both Kristens today. The Kristen that is in my school is okay but sometimes she can get really anoying and she doesn't want to do much. But she's still nice. The other one (Let's call her Kristen #2) sucks at life! She wouldn't help me out on counter even when Pam told her to. She said that she was brewing coffee. WTF!!! That's Sandy's job ya stupid crack whore! Besides all of that good stuff work was semi fun. We were talking about all of the things that customers do that piss us off. Heres a little quiz that I made up:

1) What do you do with a straw wrapper?
A. Hand it to the employee
B. Throw it in the nearest trash recepticle
C. Leave it on the counter
D. None of the above

^If you chose letter B you have a brain. If you didn't choose B I am going to shoot you cause nothing pisses me off more that leaving a straw wrapper on the counter. I actually went to another DD's and flipped out on a lady who did that.

Michael came in today but forgot his money so he cme back in about 10 minutes with it. At that time there was a long line and I forgot about him so naturally I said "Can i help the next person" and then when I actually remembered him he paid and left no tip. Now he usually leaves me about 70 cents so I think he was really mad about having to wait so long.

Working today with Diahanna Pam & Tommy. Dreading it!

I want to celebrate our last day of real school but it's too damn hot to do anything today.

In M.O. yesterday all of the boys were making jokes at my group during Jepordy. They said that we all cheat and we're stupid. Well, guess whos team got 2nd place during FINAL JEPORDY today? Oh yeah right that's my team okay! We wajored everything but $1 (which was out final score). All of the other teams were really stupid and they wajored it all except for the team that got 1st place (they had about $20,000 so they only wajored $4,000). I mean come on no one ever gets the final question right so why would you do that?. The question had 4 parts to it and nobody got it right as usual. I'm so happy now because we 5 points added to our Final Exam (which is going to be really easy anyway) and we each got a Dum Dum Lolipop. The teams that lost were really pissed because we didn't even try and we kicked their asses.

oxo MeReD1Th oxo: We really need to get him a shaving kit.

^talkin' about a teacher's go-t that really needs to go away (is that right because I don't know how to spell it)

"That's covered in fecel matter!"

Okay so I think my computer is getting better even though it has at least 5 spasams per day (which is great compared to the normal 50). Today in English we played Literary Bingo and I lost every single time we played I lost horribly. I seriously cannot wait until school is over. In Algebra we worked in groups so that we could review for the final exam. Nyland let some people work on the board so all Kate and I did was draw on it and each other. Some people were writing their boyfriend's/girlfriend's name on the board so I though I would contribute to our little name collage. I drew J TART in big bubble letters within a heart. I then had to explain that J Tart stands for John Tartaglia. Then I said that the relationship wouldn't last and I even had to explain the fact that he's gay. GOD! Freshman are so stupid! They don't understand the simple concept of homosexuality! They really need to get a life. Or do I need one? Whatever.

Seniors got their yearbooks today and they're really nice. It's so funny to see all of the senior's photo's from when they were in the 7th grade. Some people still look funny/ugly (I wont mention any names). God am I a horrible person or am I just honest?

Oh Microsoft Office was rediculas today. All of the boys cheat during Jepordy because they are stupid. They always say that my team cheats because once again they are boys and they are stupid! I think they're just upset that I didn't even try to it the buzzer at all & I still beat them. Boys are just stupid!

Thank you Lord for only giving me one more day of real school! I seriously can't take it anymore.

You could eat off that parking lot!

Work was okay yesterday. I was the cleaner on the shift so Jessica left me a very long list of things to do (which I finished an hour early by the way). Virginia trained a new kid, David, who's in my grade. We were all really curious about him. Heres a list of the things we wanted him to be:
1. Hot
2. Funny
3. Good worker
4. Smart
5. Nice smile
6. Licensed driver (with a nice car)
7. Sraight
8. Mature
9. Hot

I was really hoping for #9. I actually told Kat and Virginia that and I also said that "I'm atracked to gay men more then I am to the straight ones. For example: John Tartaglia!" When I said this, Kat almost started to laugh and I asked her why. Her response: "Whatever you do don't talk to Jenna Freed. She's absolutely in love with him." Sorry to disapoint you Kat but I already have had long conversations with her about my beloved J Tart. She said that we were meant for each other (or something like that). She then told me that she is waiting for her boyfriend to tell her that he's gay.

While we were all waiting for David to come into work we just talked about him like we knew him already.
Virginia: Yeah that cooky cooky David is late again. I guess I'm just gonna have to write him up for that.
It was actually pretty funny for a while but then I think the customers were begining to get freaked out by the fact that we were a little bit obsessed with this David guy and we never even met him.

He finally came in about 5 minutes late (which isn't a really big deal) and I would have to say he's kind of cute aven though he wears braces.

Crap and a half! The guy who's in charge of the library is yelling at me because I'm not doing school work on the school's computers. I hate the fact that my computer at home is broken.
