ABOUT VADA
Advancing Clean & Safe Combat Sports
The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting clean, fair, and safe competition in boxing and mixed martial arts.
Combat sports are regulated at the state level, and while some athletic commissions conduct drug testing, those efforts are often limited by resources, timing, and consistency. Testing may be predictable, infrequent, or incomplete. VADA was created to address these gaps by offering a voluntary, independent, and transparent anti-doping alternative for combat sports.
Our Mission
Protecting Fighters and Preserving Integrity
VADA’s mission is to protect the health and safety of athletes while preserving the integrity of boxing and mixed martial arts. We believe that clean competition is essential—not only for fairness, but for reducing the inherent risks associated with these sports.
By providing credible anti-doping programs, education, and support, VADA empowers athletes to make informed decisions and demonstrate their commitment to clean sport.
Why VADA Matters
Protecting FighterSafety Above Alls and Preserving Integrity
Boxing and mixed martial arts carry significant physical risks. The use of performance-enhancing drugs increases those risks dramatically, placing both the athlete and their opponent in greater danger.
PED use also undermines public trust and the credibility of competition. VADA exists to reduce these risks, support informed decision-making, and help ensure that victories are earned through preparation, discipline, and skill—not chemical advantage.
