General

What is USM's calendar & weekly schedule?

USM classes begin at the end of August and continue through May. See First Year Calendar for specific dates.

During the school year, we meet weekly, Monday through Thursday from 8a – 2p. Additionally, students meet weekly for Transformation Groups and serve our community on Sundays twice a month. 

Where is the school located?

Dallas, Texas

Does USM accept international students?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept international students to our nine month program at this time. However, you can still attend our Online School from anywhere in the world!

Is USM accredited?

No. USM is not an accredited college or university and therefore is not eligible for credit transfer or loan deferment.

Can I receive college credit for USM?

Yes. After completing UPPERROOM School of Ministry in Dallas, you are eligable to receive some college credit at one of our partnering universities.

When is the application deadline?

The application deadline is July 15, 2025.

How much is the application fee?

$40 (nonrefundable)

What are the requirements to apply?

A photo of your driver’s license or other valid ID, digital passport style photo, a copy of your high school or college transcript or GED (NOT a diploma; unofficial copies are accepted), application fee, 3 references: 1 professional, 1 pastoral, 1 personal.

Finances

Is tuition tax deductible?

Please note that contributions designated for a specific student’s tuition are not tax-deductible, in accordance with IRS guidelines, because they directly benefit an individual rather than the church or ministry school.

What does tuition cover?

Tuition covers all classes, books, and the Fall Retreat. Tuition does not cover any living expenses while in Dallas.

Can I work while attending school?

USM requires approximately 25 hours per week, so it is possible to work part-time during the school year. However, students planning to work during USM may find it difficult to balance homework and a job.

Do you provide financial aid?

No. We do not provide financial aid.

Can I do USM Online and also come in person for some classes (a hybrid option)?

No, we do not offer a hybrid option for USM Online/First or Second Year. While the class themes are similar, the schools don’t run on a similar schedule.

What is the calendar & weekly schedule for USM Online?

Assignments for USM Online are handed out at the beginning of each week and are due Saturday evening. Students are encouraged to complete the work whenever is most convenient for their schedule during each week.

Does USM online accept international students?

Yes. USM Online is available to students anywhere in the world, as long as they have access to a computer and reliable internet.

Can I receive college credit for USM Online?
No. College Credit is not offered for USM Online at this time.

How much is tuition for USM Online?

Tuition for each Phase of USM Online is $1200 and must be paid in full before each Phase begins. If you participate in all three Phases, you will pay a total of $3600 in tuition for USM Online.
