Music Rec List - Spencer And Ashley

Addiction is nasty, but so damn enjoyable.

And now, as my multiple fans turn and try to cool me off, let's dive into this seven-song wonder.
I think I can say that most of these songs will be couple-related, but a few could be individual 'themes' or a possible Season One song...

You'll just have to hop under the cut and see.

The Donnas - 'I Don't Want To Know'

--I'll admit that, lyrically, this song has absolutely nothing in common with South Of Nowhere, nor the relationships involved. However, it was the Season One theme and I freakin' love this song. Every time I hear it, I picture... well, I picture Spencer and Ashley, being all teenagery (made up word is made up!). And it makes my heart happy.

--What a perfect song for Spashley during the cosmic fuck-up that was Season Two (with Ashley being a dip-shit and Spencer having to navigate troubled waters all on her own) and right into Season Three (with heaps of lesbian angst - heaps!). Like this lyric: '...and I have no lantern to light your way home tonight...'
Perfect Spencer-voice towards Ashley in Season Three. Perfect.

--Holy hell, what a great Ashley POV kind of song. And yes, this fanvid is awesome. But it is the lyrics that just nail this to the wall. I hear the words and they are completely Ashley in Season Three: regretful and aching for a second (third, fourth...) chance, chasing after Spencer in the way that Spencer deserves.
I love it.

--What a glorious description of Spencer and Ashley in Season One, especially from Spencer's perspective. It taps into the subtle hesitance that still gets shoved aside in the face of want and affection, Spencer being the one who can step up and take what is on offer... when Ashley is floundering in 'scary' need.
It is sweet and sure. YES.

--I will shamelessly choose this song as a Spashley anthem, simply from a fanfiction slave reader point-of-view. But it is so excellent for them, post-Season Three (but if they didn't work their shit out) and all the angst to come.
And, interestingly enough, if I think of this track from Spencer's perspective... it works within the show, perhaps during S3, during those times of intense heart-struggle.
Hmmm. I think I've found a revision in regards to this tune. Nice. :D

--Sweet little thing that fits them like a glove. I imagine switching POV's and at the end of Season Three, with their future before them. This is their version of vows, still young and new, but about so much more than just 'living together'.
Like damn cotton candy.

--Again, with the angst and the deep soul-love. Season Three is not the best thing in the world, but it sure hands me the torture on a silver platter. And I am a sucker for characters who fuck up, but then try so hard to get back what they messed up... which, in this case, is Ashley trying to get Spencer back.
Classic stuff all the way around and this song is damn fitting.
