Otalia Venting.

Seriously, that is all I am going to do.

Right.
So I am getting over the whole 'kiss' thing that will happen during the June 8th week.
I get that Olivia is one insecure lady and it is only getting worse.
I get that Natalia is hyper-hesitant due to Rafe, mostly. And just the newness of this particular relationship with Olivia.
I understand that this is a soap and soaps must drag everything out and be as angsty as possible and create obstacles to true love.
I know that JL is going to have to leave the show and have her baby, so they have to come up with something to get her outta there.

What is bothering me right now, while watching the first bit of Otalia for today, is that I can see clearly what is going on in both characters.
And while Olivia may frustrate me with her need to push (due to above insecurities) and Natalia may frustrate me with her slight inability to give full-on signs of devotion... I never think that either character is in the wrong, not really.

So, it really irritates me when I read other peoples comments and they are calling Natalia an 'ass'. WTF?
I'm sorry to get so defensive over a person who is not even real (sanity is gone apparently), but that just flew all over me.
So Natalia is moving slow? So what?
She lost the man she loved for years, watched her son go on the run and then go to prison, works constantly, lied to a man and carries that guilt, had to deal with God (which for her is serious fucking deal) and what God might think of her feelings for another woman, she told her priest about her feelings and defended her feelings... what more do you people want?

I watched the courtroom scenes and you get everything from Olivia's perspective.
Which, hello, is colored by her own insecurities.
The way she looks at Frank and the way she looks once Natalia walks with Rafe to the lawyer, it is all her perception of herself within that moment.
And she is terrified of being left out - even though that is not happening.
Natalia makes so much eye contact, I'm surprised Rafe doesn't already know.
The hug, the grinning, the hand-holding. I mean, shit, it is so fucking obvious.
And Natalia goes out of her way to show it.

I just get so pissed off when people dump all the blame/irritation onto one character when, in reality, they are both making mistakes with one another and trying to find a way to be in love.

Okay. Rant done.
