Writer's Block: In a Former Life
Do you believe in reincarnation? If your answer is "yes," describe some of your past lives.
I am actually a big believer in reincarnation.
I had the great fortune to be able to have a free session with a past life regressionist [sp?] many years ago.
And the entire thing is on audio tape, where you can hear my stilted and slow voice answering questions about who I am, where I am and so on.
I was a man, somewhere in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I was of a 'lower' class background and worked as a laborer on transporting ships. I was in love with a girl with large hazel eyes and pale skin. I disliked her brother quite a bit and I disliked my station in life a lot more. I remember my home being with my family and very... full of stuff, very cluttered and dark. The girl I loved, her home was much nicer and put-together. She had a gravel driveway. She wore a blue and white patterned dress, had very red lips.
I could see her take my hand and lead me to another room (which I could see so vividly as the regression went on).
I was then asked about my death, which was by drowning. One of the ships I was on somehow caught fire. It was night and I was clinging to a piece of wood, part of the ship.
And I could feel the almost strangled feeling in my throat, cutting off air to my body.
Then I was dead.
I've always wanted to do another regression session (rhyme every time!), but never have had the chance.
My mother told me of how I sat at my little drawing table one day, probably when I was three or four, while she watched a show about WWII. And I looked up and told her that I had been there, in the jungles of southeast Asia... then went back to my drawing.
She also mentioned a time when she put me to bed and I told her that 'when she was small again, we could play together'.
So, yes. I believe.
