pretending to remember a time before

When your name is on the lips of every girl, like you are a rock star and they are your groupies, you begin to distrust everything.
I love you just equals please fuck me all night.
Shane leaves the emotions at the door. Turn the lock and turn off the lights and lay yourself down.
And even those that claim to love you, to truly feel their heart swell at the very sight of you - you can't trust them either.
I love you just equals I want to control you.
Shane did her best to overcome the past. To ignore the urge and to open her arms and let the tears fall from her eyes.
But it doesn't always take.
Her kind of love is always free for the taking. And she used to think it was because she was broken, not capable of giving it all to just one woman.
I love you just equals you can now hurt me.
Shane smokes a cigarette outside and lets Carmen sleep. Shane rubs the back of her neck and her fingertips burn.
Her reputation is changing, slowly evolving into something Shane does not recognize.
And she is not sure she likes it.

We went dancing. And you can't dance.
Then again... neither can I. But that is not the point of us going out, is it?
We are not here to be seen. We are here to see each other, having fun and living it up.
And we are in love, aren't we?
We kiss and laugh and hold each other close.
We bump into other people and make our way to the bar and we drink silly, stupid fruity drinks.
And I say the words I have said to others before you. You smile. You say them back.
We mean those words, right?
I think so as you move your hips, pull me along once again, kiss my cheek in that slow way only you can do.
Only you can do this to me.
Make me want to stop time, to wrap the seconds up in my arms.
I think I want forever to be with you.

I am so rocking out the drabbles, man.
