She didn't think it would be easy, stopping the running around and the running away. But should it be this hard?
They fight. And Carmen gets that look in her eye, like life dealt her a bad hand. And Shane wants to fade out, back out, get out.
Not so easy to be faithful Not so easy to be a girlfriend Not so easy to have to trust.
She watches Carmen sleep. With one gaze, feeling love. With another gaze, feeling trapped.
And you can't blame the one who falls in love... Shane doesn't blame anyone but herself for not truly wanting to change.

Helena has been here before. And no doubt, she will be here again one day soon.
With someone new. With something new. Because the good things never last... even when you so want them to.
But she feels the sweet sting of passion every single time that Dylan kisses her.
Passion. Not yet love, still simmering on the fire of longing and hidden touches.
Hidden. Not a word Helena likes. Not one she wants to use, yet she is using it now. Now, upon this bed and with this incredible woman and wishing they could just be together. Out. Open.
Helena has been here before. But that knowledge does not make it any easier to accept.

What will Alice hold onto when it is all said and done?
She thinks of old times and that just tears her up. But when she thinks of what could have been... that hurts even more.
Can't turn back the clock, Alice hears. Can't change someones heart. Can't make them whole again.
Alice looks at pictures and smiles. Alice drives by the regular places and has to fight not to stop there, to look for her, to watch for her face to appear from around the corner and for her lips to smirk at Alice.
I'll take care of you.
Alice believed she could, you know. Really. That somehow... all the love inside of Alice's heart could save her.
That's what you do, isn't it? Make your love a cure to all pains. Alice had that to hold onto for a while. Her love for Dana.
And Dana needed Alice's love. More than medicine and more than sleep and more than anything else.
Or so Alice thought, once upon a time. Until it was over. And there was nothing left to hold onto, not a damn thing except the truth of the matter.
Dana is gone.
Are you listening to me, Al?
What? Oh yea... yea, no salad with the funny nuts in it, right...
Alice knows that Dana will be gone. Dana knows it, too. And so they just talk about random things and sometimes they look at each just a little too long and sometimes they do not look at all.
'Coz Dana is already leaving and she doesn't know what Alice will hold onto when it is all said and done.
