Tiered Point System (TPS)
What Is The Tiered Point System (TPS)?
The Tiered Point System (TPS) is a new nationwide program that rewards USA Pickleball members with points every time they compete and medal in any sanctioned tournament. This program offers USA Pickleball Champion and Challenger members a new and exciting championship opportunity.
How It Works
- Sanctioned tournaments will be categorized by status, participant size and referee use.
- Each tier is assigned corresponding point values, with Golden Tickets receiving the most points.
- Players will accumulate points based on the tier of the event played, participation, and performance within that event.
- Point totals accumulate throughout the tournament year (September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2026)
Why It Matters
- Earn your way to Nationals. If you don’t win a Golden Ticket, your TPS point total can help you qualify to be eligible to participate in Nationals.
- While playing in a combination of tiered tournaments can earn players enough points for
- Nationals eligibility, playing in one Golden Ticket tournament will automatically award the points total needed to be Nationals eligible.
Compete in the Series Point Championship. Top point earners in each division will receive priority registration. Currently planned for Spring 2027. More details to come.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have additional questions? Contact Us.
Has the Challenger membership changed?
Yes! The Challenger tier now includes eligibility for all sanctioned tournaments, including Golden Ticket events and Nationals — and the cost has been reduced from $25 to just $12/year to make it more accessible.
When does my membership expire?
Your membership is valid for whatever time frame you select (either 1, 3 or 5 years) from the date of purchase or renewal. Keep in mind you can opt for auto renewal. You can check your expiration date by logging into your USA Pickleball Sport80 account.
Will I get reminders to renew my membership?
Yes, USA Pickleball sends reminder emails before your membership expires to help you maintain uninterrupted access to tournament registration and member benefits.
Do Champion members get additional discounts or perks?
Yes! Champion members receive exclusive partner discounts (e.g., 30% off Franklin gear, etc.), plus recognition as a sport supporter and a significant portion of your membership supports charitable programs.
Where do I go to renew my membership?
If you log in to your membership through the following link, you will be taken directly to the renewal process: Renew Now
I'm on auto renewal, but I need to renew my membership now - how do I do that?
You will need to go through the renewal process to extend your membership as opposed to the auto renewal process. If you log into your account, choose “View Profile,” then “Individual Membership.” From that page, click on the three dots on the far right of your membership, and cancel your autorenewal. Then if you click on your membership again, it will give you the option to “Renew.” After that if you follow the prompts and checkout, you will be able to extend your membership. Here is a tutorial to help with the renewal process: https://www.loom.com/share/1cc303de39b04ee4861d2b70c95c77cf
I renewed my membership but it says "Pre-Paid." What does that mean?
Pre-Paid means that you purchased a membership at a different level and it will begin as soon as the current membership expires. If you need this to begin earlier, please reach out to membershipsupport@usapickleball.org and they can do that for you.
How do I upgrade my membership?
What membership tier do I need to play in USA Pickleball–sanctioned tournaments, Golden Ticket tournaments, or Nationals?
You must have an active Challenger or Champion membership.
