Article Submissions

UP Magazine accepts story pitches year-round for digital publication on a rolling basis. We are fairly open to ideas, though the types of stories we’re most interested in at the moment are profiles, listicles, city guides, and historical write-ups. Read through some of our columns & past content to get a sense of what we’re looking for.

We only accept submissions from journalists – we do not accept self-submissions from artists.

For online articles, we look for ~1000 words + 10-15 photos. Contributors are paid market rates, with incentives for growth.

In particular, as we expand our global audience, we’re looking for coverage from the following cities: Denver, Miami, Austin, Chicago, London, Paris, Sydney, Tel Aviv & Hong Kong.

Photo Submissions

For photos, we accept submissions in limited windows relevant to our publishing calendar.

Currently, we are accepting photo submissions of street art for publishing on our Instagram.

Please send photos to upmagstaff@gmail.com. Make sure you photos are labeled with the artists & photographers instagram name.

Art Submissions

Our friends at the Bushwick Gallery currently have an open call for submissions, curated by Daphney Estrada. (Note there is a submission fee.)

Submission Deadline: February 27, 2026

Theme: Soft Shadows explores the gentle tension between light and darkness—where growth, clarity, and transformation quietly unfold. This exhibition invites works that embrace subtlety, contrast, and quiet power.
