A More Stable Insurance Path for Child Care Providers – UPCCA to become essentially our own insurance company.

UPCCA is launching a captive insurance solution to help address rising premiums and reduced coverage options in our industry.

Why We’re Doing This

Child care centers across Utah are facing higher premiums, tougher exclusions, and more carriers pulling out of the market. A captive gives us the chance to take back some control.

By forming our own captive:

  • Premium payors would have a voice and a vote at the table
  • We can collectively influence decision-making
  • We have more flexibility around claims and coverage
  • We gain rights that traditional carriers don’t offer (for example, the ability to call counsel in a lawsuit)

This is a long-term play to stabilize costs, protect centers, and strengthen the industry.

What to Send

To prepare our analysis, please send:

  • General Liability policy
  • Auto policy
  • Workers Compensation policy
  • Five years of loss runs
  • The last five years of premiums

It is not required to be a UPCCA member yet to submit documents. Membership would only be required if you decide to join the captive once pricing is presented.

Submitting your info does not commit you to joining the captive. It simply allows us to evaluate the group’s risk profile and present real numbers back to you.

Once we know the pricing and structure, centers can make an informed decision about participation.

Where to Send It

You can provide documents directly to UPCCA:

📧 [email protected]

Or use the upload button below

Submitting documents does not automatically sign you up for the captive. It simply allows us to evaluate risk and return numbers to the group.
