THE WORD IS POWERFUL

THE WORD IS POWERFUL

"THE WORD IS POWERFUL"

“THE WORD IS POWERFUL”

The Word is powerful.

It is like a hammer.

When I speak it, I imagine it demolishing every thing that stands against God’s Truth and His purposes.

The Word is powerful.

It is like fire.

When I speak it, pray it I imagine it consuming everything that stands against God’s Truth and His purposes.

The Word is powerful.

It is like water.

When I sing it, I imagine it washing away everything that stands against God’s Truth and His purposes.

The Word is powerful.

SELAH!

“Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]?”

(Jeremiah 23:29 – Amplified Bible)

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her,
So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word,
That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].

(Ephesians 5:25-27 – Amplified Bible)

“For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

(Isaiah 55:10-11 – Amplified Bible)

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”

(Isaiah 40:8 – Amplified Bible)

ARE YOU A FOOL?

ARE YOU A FOOL?

ARE YOU A FOOL?

ARE YOU A FOOL?

Are you a fool?

Your response to this question was more than likely “No, I’m not a fool”, or as some Bahamians would say, “No I een no fool” (smile!)

You may not consider yourself a fool by your standards, and I may not consider myself a fool by my standards, but the real issue is how do we measure up by God’s standards?

Here are some Bible verses that give notable characteristics of fools.

“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God….”

(Psalm 14:1 & Psalm 53:1 – NIV)

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

(Proverbs 1:7 – NIV)

“Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool.”

(Proverbs 10:18 – NIV)

“A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes, but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.”

(Proverbs 10:23 – NIV)

“The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.”

(Proverbs 12:15 – NIV)

“Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.”

(Proverbs 12:16 – NIV)

“A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.”

(Proverbs 13:19 – NIV)

“A fool’s mouth lashes out with pride, but the lips of the wise protect them.”

(Proverbs 14:3 – NIV)

“Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.”

(Proverbs 14:9 – NIV)

“The wise fear the Lord and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.”

(Proverbs 14:16 – NIV)

“A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.”

(Proverbs 15:5 – NIV)

“Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.”

(Proverbs 18:2 – NIV)

“It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.”

(Proverbs 20:3)

“Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.”

(Proverbs 28:6 – NIV)

“Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.”

(Proverbs 29:11 – NIV)

“A dream comes when there are many cares, and many words mark the speech of a fool.”

(Ecclesiastes 5:3 – NIV)

So, having read these scriptures I ask again, are you a fool?

By God’s grace, let’s seek to live our lives according to wisdom and be wise and not according to folly and be fools.

“Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God’s Word and life’s experiences], For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold. Skillful and godly Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her. Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

(Proverbs 3:13-17 – Amplified Bible)

“JESUS IS COMING SOON” – OAK RIDGE BOYS

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

(John 14: 1-3 – NIV)

“1 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.”

(I Thessalonians 5:1-6 – NIV)

“42 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

(Matthew 24:42-44 – NIV)

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

(I Thessalonians 4:16, 18 – NIV)

“3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. 8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

(2 Peter 3:3-4, 8-9 – NIV)

“16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

(John 3:16, 17 – NIV)

NOTEWORTHY QUOTE 9

NOTEWORTHY QUOTE 9

"SELAH - PAUSE AND CALMLY THINK OF THAT"

“SELAH – PAUSE AND CALMLY THINK OF THAT”

From time-to-time I like to post quotes that I view as noteworthy.

The following is a statement quoted from Parker J. Palmer found on page 49 of Chapter 3 of his book, “Let Your Life Speak….Listening For The Voice of Vocation”.

“One sign I am violating my own nature in the name of nobility is a condition called burnout. Though usually regarded  as the result of trying to give too much, burnout in my experience results from trying to give what I do not possess – the ultimate in giving too little! Burnout is a sense of emptiness to be sure, but it does not result from giving all I have: it merely reveals the nothingness from which I was trying to give in the first place.”

Source: Palmer, Parker J. Let Your Life Speak….Listening For The Voice of Vocation. San Francisco, California, John Wiley & Sons, 2000

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

(Matthew 11:28-30 – The Message Bible)

RUNNING FROM GOD’S CALLING

RUNNING FROM GOD’S CALLING

Are you running  from God’s calling?

Be challenged.

RUN TO AND NOT FROM GOD'S CALLING

RUN TO AND NOT FROM GOD’S CALLING

July 3rd, 2014

“RUNNING FROM GOD’S CALLING”

Elaine Tavolacci

There was a prophet in the Old Testament named Jonah. The Lord told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to prophesy against it because of their great wickedness. Jonah refused to go and went from the presence of the Lord on his own way. He got on a ship in Jaffa that was going to Tarshish which, geographically, is in the opposite direction of where the Lord told him to go. As he walked out of Gods will, he not only put his own life in jeopardy, but also the men in the boat as well as the people in Nineveh. As Jonah was asleep in the lowest part of the ship, the Lord sent a great storm. The men on the ship cast lots, to see who was responsible for this great tempest, and found that it was Jonah. Jonah then told the men to throw him into the sea, and after this they did this, the sea ceased from its raging. Jonah was saved by being swallowed by a whale which the Lord prepared. Jonah prayed while in the fish, and after three days, he was vomited out. Jonah then went to Nineveh, prophesied to the people and the whole city fasted and prayed and turned from their wickedness. Then God relented and did not bring the destruction on Nineveh that they deserved.

This is a very unusual story which certainly was a supernatural occurrence. The Lord is showing me that He wants to use many of us today to bring repentance, revival and restoration to our cities. He is not the God of judgment and just as He had mercy on Jonah and the people of Nineveh, He will also have mercy on people today. In return, multitudes will turn from their wicked ways and come into the Kingdom.

The Lord says, I am the God of mercy and I am calling you to come into alignment with what I have called you to do. As you walk into your calling, you will see things begin to fall into place in your personal life and ministry. You will begin to see others being set free from their self-destructive ways. Don’t be afraid of confrontation. Don’t fear the opposition of the enemy. I will go with you and I will speak through you. Things may look unfamiliar to you as you go along but trust in Me. I will never mislead you but you will become familiar with My ways as you take each step of faith.

For those of you who are asleep in the boat, allow Me to help you up as you shake off your slumber. Pay no attention to those who are demanding their voices to be heard. They are as clouds without rain. You are carrying something so much greater. Now is the time to raise your voice in the victory that I have given to you. Speak My words in boldness, proclaiming the good news to the nations. Don’t fear those who threaten you, because My word in your mouth carries greater authority. My anointing on your life will bring change. Never compromise who you are and what you believe in, but take a stand for righteousness at all times.

Take no offence when you are confronted with the views and opinions of others. Do not allow those with depraved doctrines of demons to manipulate you, but avoid arguments over their ungodly religions and rituals. Don’t be intimidated or swayed by their words of deception because there is no reason for disputes and no need to try to defend yourself when you know who you are in Christ. Do not be concerned about your reputation. Do not fear the spirit of anti-Christ because you have been called to greatness. I am looking for those who will yield to the calling that I have placed on their lives, and will walk by faith and not by sight says the Lord.

Psalm 139:7-9
Where can I go from Your Spirit? or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.

Jonah 1:1-3
Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

Ephesians 5:15- 17
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

A TUESDAY TUNE TO BOOST YOUR SPIRIT

A TUESDAY TUNE TO BOOST YOUR SPIRIT

For the past two weeks, “I KNOW WHO I AM” by Sinach has been in my spirit.

When I wake up it’s there, throughout the day it’s there, and at night it’s there.

It was here again this morning so I thought I’d post it as a tune for Tuesday.

I really like this song; it boosts my spirit, blesses my heart and makes me dance…:)

I hope it does the same for you.

“I KNOW WHO I AM” – BY SINACH

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

The Girl Species: Girl with “Daddy Issues”

Just over a week ago I received a post from my fellow blogger from Africa, Joseyphina (www.joseyphina.wordpress.com) entitled “The Girl Species: “Girl With Daddy Issues” that I am re-blogging with her permission. Be enlightened as you read. Blessings! Kim

joseyphina's avatar Joseyphina's World

Every girl craves her father’s love.

The girl in this category is particularly difficult to deal with. Whether the father abandoned the family when she was still very young for another woman or he passed away, the absence of the male figure left a big vacuum in the heart of the girl.

So she grows up, looking for someone to occupy that empty space within her. Most often than not, she does not find the right substitute so she makes do with any guy who comes along who shows a little interest in her. What the guy realizes rather late is that, she is hanging on so tight as if her whole world revolves around him and that after a while, it drives him away.

So the story of her life: one guy after the other, falling in love with him because of one reason but falling out of love…

THE FISH IN THE POND – OBSERVATION…..REVELATION

THE FISH IN THE POND – OBSERVATION…..REVELATION

THE POND

THE POND

A few mornings ago, I went by the pond in our garden to spend some time in prayer, meditation and the Word.

As I sat there, the Lord directed my attention to the fish in the pond and spoke these words into my spirit that encouraged me and that I believe will encourage other Believer’s desiring to walk in and fulfill God’s divine purpose for their lives.

Look at the fish in the pond.

See how they swim effortlessly. See how they navigate their environment with ease. See how they flow in the naturalness of their being, That is how you will be when in your element, when in that place I have for you, when walking in and fulfilling My divine purpose for your life.

Look at the fish in the pond.

Observe them. See how they skillfully glide through the water. See how they breathe with ease. See how they transition smoothly from one point to the next. That is how you will be when in your element, when in that place I have for you, when walking in and fulfilling My divine purpose for your life.

Look at the fish in the pond.

See how they swim within a set boundary. See how they do not step out of the place in which they thrive. See how they accept where they are and maximize what is there. That is how you will be when in your element, when in that place I have for you, when walking in and fulfilling My divine purpose for your life.

Look at the fish in the pond.

See how they don’t stress over provision. See how they multiply abundantly. See how they mingle among their kind. This is how you will be when in your element, when in that place I have for you, when walking in and fulfilling My divine purpose for your life.

Look at the fish in the pond.
