And there you go offering more gold for free! Gold for you and you and you! ✨✨✨🙌

I try!! I wish gold content equated to GOLD $$ 😆😆

Me too 🤑💰 the quality of writing would improve immediately on SS. Is that wrong to say? But serious, I’m so sick of the starving artist myth. WRITERS DESERVE TO EAT TOO.

Always good to re-check and re-start! Thanks Kristi.

When I changed my email address, Substack “lost” all my paid subscriptions. I can read free content but not engage in conversations. I paid about $500 for my favorite Substack authors and their bot support cannot find any record of my paid subscriptions. I’ve spent over a week (hours/day) searching for any live support but… not even crickets. Just filed with BBB but don’t have much hope. I do have followers but can’t communicate with them. Am I SOL?

Hi Marjorie, I'm so sorry that happened to you! Unfortunately, I don't work directly for Substack so I'm not qualified in the slightest to be able to give advice on that. I have heard that if you tell the chatbot several times in a row that you've lost access to paid subscriptions, it will eventually transfer you to a human. Somebody once told me that it if has to do with money, Substack will take a support request seriously.

The chatbot never connects you to a live human. It just repeats that they have no record of me and I don’t qualify for a refund. Really helpful (NOT)

I'm so sorry! 😩 I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard about the terrible support they (don't) offer.

Welcome email?????! 🤦🏾‍♀️geez I don’t think I have one of those. 🏃🏾‍♀️ to fix that today!

Kristi Keller 🇨🇦's avatar

Seriously?? Yes, go fix it! We all have them, but if you've never updated it from Substack default, you've been missing an opportunity!

Always good… now to make myself do something about implementing all the wise advice you’ve offered. Today might be the day

Commit to it and then it'll be out of the way! 😊

Thanks, updating our welcome email is one of those duh things one easily overlooks, even though it is so easy.

Kristi Keller 🇨🇦's avatar

Yes!!! It is sooo easy to overlook! Glad you're on it now.

I'm so glad you sent this! I actually had a good welcome email, but when I went into settings, I realized it was only set up for imported and paid subscribers, and my free (pretty much everyone right now) were receiving some generic rubbish. Not sure how I messed that up 🫣. Thank you for the nudge!

Kristi Keller 🇨🇦's avatar

If it makes you feel any better, I see this way more often than you'd think when working with clients! I suppose it's easy to overlook in the onslaught of Substack settings! Glad you caught it and made the change!

Great post! I’m updating my welcome email today!

Brilliant! It's just a little thing that could have so much impact.
