Unsecure 12 is a device-recovery utility from P&E Microcomputer Systems designed to remove the security state on NXP/Freescale 68HC12/9S12/HCS12/HCS12X microcontrollers. Working through the Background Debug Mode (BDM) interface and a compatible PEmicro hardware interface such as Multilink or Cyclone, it performs a mass erase to clear security bits and return the MCU to its default unsecured state, enabling programming and debugging access again.

This tool is intended for engineering, test, and production scenarios where the security key is unavailable or a secured device must be restored for reuse. Important: the unsecure operation erases the device’s flash contents; all existing code and data on the MCU will be lost.

Unsecure 12 is developed by P&E Microcomputer Systems. The most popular version of this product among our users is 1.6. The name of the program executable file is unsecure_12.exe.
