Why I Built UnmaskWP? (My Story)
I’m Mayank Majeji, a WordPress developer and product builder.
Over the years, I’ve worked on countless WordPress projects for clients. A common pattern kept showing up:
clients would share reference websites and ask questions like:
- Which theme are they using?
- Which plugins power this feature?
- Can we build something similar?
While I could extract this information manually, it wasn’t practical, and it certainly wasn’t beginner-friendly.
UnmaskWP was born out of that exact problem.
I wanted to build a tool that removes friction and helps anyone, not just developers, understand the technology behind a WordPress website in seconds.

Built for the WordPress Community
UnmaskWP is part of my broader effort to contribute back to the WordPress ecosystem through tools, plugins, and open-source projects.
Some of my other active projects include:

- MenuPilot – Preview-First Menu Import & Export – Safely import and export WordPress menus with a preview-first approach to avoid broken or overwritten navigation.
- WP Utility and Performance Plugin – WPUP is a WordPress plugin that allows you to remove unused resources (CSS & JS) inserted by WordPress code, third-party themes, and plugins.
- WP Full Screen Search – WPFSS converts the default WordPress search form to a full-screen overlay search form.
