Anyone here heading to the University of Wolverhampton in about 10 days time?

Hey y'all. I'm Keeley, 17 & from Hong Kong.
Just wondering if anyone applied to University of East Anglia or University of Brighton for 2007 entry?
I would love to make new friends and get to know you if you have applied to these unis!
I've applied both of them (UEA as my firm & Brighton for insurance) for Business Management course.

Gosh there aren't many days left until the results come out on Aug. 16th.. how are you all feeling? Must be nervous!

Is anyone else applying to Middlesex Uni? I'm applying for BA Illustration and I recently had an interview. I haven't have any confirmation as of yet but it was hinted to me that I've most likely been accepted.

So I decided to do some research on LJ and Facebook to see what students were really saying about Middlesex and...it's not good. A fair number of drop-outs, useless degrees, terrible accomodation and the whole system has gone to pot.

Does anyone have any experience to whether this is all true? Or is it a matter of what you put in you get out of it?

I just got both of my offers today actually. One is from City University for the MA in International Politics and Human Rights, and the other is an MA in International Relations from the University of Kent at Brussels.

Does anyone have any opinions about either of these programmes? Right now I'm leaning towards City because I really don't want to leave London, and because the programme is more specialised towards what I want to do.

Any opinions or thoughts would be much appreciated!

Well, all the offers are in on my part, and I have to reply by the beginning of May... not to mention, I have to apply for student finance and all that jazz...

Truth is, I honestly don't know where to choose.

I'm torn between Edinburgh and Swansea - two totally different places I suppose! I live in Cardiff, so Edinburgh is a very very long way away for me. If it were closer, I'm sure I'd love to go there... but that, plus what I've heard about accommodation beyond 1st year being pretty expensive has put me off a little...

Basically, I need all the advice I can get. I'm so torn about it - on the one hand, I want to be closer to home, and Swansea would be ideal for that, but on the other, I feel as though I'm relinquishing a chance to go to a really really good University purely because it's so far away.

In short - I'm very confused, and any advice or knowledge about either University, particularly concerning English & German, would really help me out.

I'm a U.S. citizen, applying for graduate programs overseas. I applied to Queen's University Belfast (and just received an offer for the MA in English (Modern Literary Studies) ...today!), and the University of Edinburgh. I know I still have a few weeks to go before I hear back from Edinburgh, and Queen's University in Belfast is actually my second choice (Trinity College in Dublin being the first because they have a program I nerd out over every time I talk about it)

...so until I hear from Dublin and Edinburgh--all focus is on Queen's University. I don't know where to start as far as what I'd like to know... so... does anyone have any kind of thoughts or helpful things about the universtiy an international student should know about?

Would it be silly to accept the offer right now... and notify admissions later if I decide to withdraw because I've gotten into another program? (Should I just wait until I've heard from all programs and made my ultimate decision?)

And as far as the University of Edinburgh... I got word three weeks ago from The University of Edinburgh that my applications were received, complete, and going to be considered... is there anyone who's been through this process and has any kind of idea of how long I should probably end up having to wait?

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but most of the communities I could find were for graduate students only. I recently received an unconditional offer from the University of Edinburgh, and along with it, an Overseas Fees Certificate (I'm from the US and applied as an international student). The problem is, I'm not really sure how to fill it out. I obviously want to do it the right way so the nasty officials at customs don't detain me or I get my offer withdrawn. My family is paying for the tuition, but I will probably need student loans along the road for extras like accommodation, books, etc. I don't plan on being very extravagant, but was wondering how I would complete the form without knowing which loan companies I would be using. It's only March, I could still win the lottery! I e-mailed the financial department and the undergraduate admissions representative, but so far have had no reply in the past two weeks. Has anyone had any trouble filling these Certificates out, and if so, how did you do it, if you don't mind me asking? Any information would be much appreciated.

I've been informed that i'll have to start writing in 'the Queen's english' in September for my Masters in the UK. Anyone else ever have to 'switch'? Any tips?

I've got two ideas so far: 1) change my Word dictionary to the British english one, and 2) to start writing in British english any chance I get.

Any other people applying to a Scottish university and thinking of going into the second year out there? Or do you know anyone who did that? Anyone? Eeep. I'm telling myself it'll all be scary and new and exhausting and hard work regardless. That's university. Yuhuh?
