Frequently asked questions

How does the iBanFirst Payment Tracker work?

Leveraging iBanFirst’s SWIFT direct membership, as well as access to the CHAPS domestic payment scheme, and our own payment data, the Payment Tracker provides precise and accurate information about a payment’s status, including which intermediary banks are involved.

For entities operating outside the UK (e.g. South Africa), tracking is based on SWIFT network data and internal payment information.

Please note that the tracker doesn't work for non-SWIFT & non-CHAPS payments.

Payments between iBanFirst accounts are instantaneous.

For international payments in other currencies, funds typically arrive within 1-3 business days, and CHAPS usually same-day, depending on the complexity of the routes, how many intermediary banks and time zones the funds pass through, and local cutoff times. Find out more about international payment speeds.

With the iBanFirst Payment Tracker, you can see when a payment was sent, its current status, and the time it reaches each intermediary bank during processing.

You can also see when the payment arrives at the beneficiary bank, allowing you to follow the full payment journey from initiation to completion.

Yes, you can share tracking links with your suppliers and other beneficiaries to give them real-time insights into payment progress.

That way, you and your beneficiaries can easily access live updates on your payments, so you're both aware of any roadblocks or delays and don't need to worry about sending status updates.

Simply choose a payment and select "Proof of payment" on the details page. This will immediately download a pacs.008 file in XML format to your device.
